Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is to provide employees with leadership, supervisory development, positive and effective associate relations, Workday facilitation, and process improvement, while fostering Company culture.
Essential Functions
Provides support to employees throughout the employee lifecycle
Participates in the development of departmental goals and objectives, recommends new approaches, policies and procedures for continued process improvement.
Offer thought leadership and subject matter expertise with HR functions, stakeholders, vendors and cross-functional teams to establish practices and procedures
Interpret external business trends and best practices and apply them in their day-to-day operations
Effectively guide day-to-day decisions about people and lead with behaviors which are consistent with the Company values
Workday facilitation with payroll, benefits and leave departments
Timely and consistently respond to day-to-day requirements for reporting, analysis, compliance, and performance management
Support employee development at all levels
Coach individuals and teams to higher performance
Identify and implement improvements in HR effectiveness and processes
Provide feedback and solutions to support change management
Promote effective two-way communications
Personally contribute to achievement of business goals
All other job duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
2 - 5 years of experience in HR roles with increasing responsibilities some of which must have included line HR generalist responsibilities
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
Knowledge in Workday a plus
Skills & Competencies
Experience working in a centralized HR model preferred
Communication: HR generalists need strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
Human resource management: HR generalists should have knowledge of human resource management including recruiting, hiring, training and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and performance management.
Legal compliance: HR generalists must have a good understanding of all relevant employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels and ensure that the organization is compliant with them.
Strategic thinking: HR generalists should be able to think strategically about the organization's business goals and how HR policies and practices can support those goals.
Organizational skills: HR generalists should be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment and ensure that deadlines and priorities are met.
Technology skills: HR generalists must be comfortable with technology and have the skills to use various HR management software programs and tools to track, organize and analyze HR data.
