Overview

We are looking for an organized, systems-minded HR Coordinator to join our People Operations team. This role is perfect for someone who’s gotten some solid HR experience under their belt and is ready to dive deeper into the operational side: HRIS administration, employee lifecycle management, and the systems that keep everything running smoothly.

You’ll be the operational backbone, ensuring data stays accurate, systems run smoothly, and employees have what they need throughout their journey with us.

ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do:

HRIS & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate employee data in our HRIS, processing all updates for new hires, terminations, and status changes, ensure data integrity. 
  • Manage system access, permissions, and user accounts throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Support system integrations and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Generate scheduled and ad-hoc reports (headcount, turnover, compensation analysis) for leadership.

Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure seamless onboarding experiences for new hires.
  • Lead new hire check-ins during the first 30-90 days to support early employee experience and address questions.
  • Support internal transitions and maintain transition plans.
  • Coordinate offboarding logistics including system access termination, equipment returns, and exit paperwork.

Benefits & Payroll Administration

  • Support benefits administration, including managing inquiries, coordinating Open Enrollment communications, and assisting with plan administration.
  • Facilitate leave of absence administration in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support payroll processing for approximately 100 employees, including auditing timecards for hourly employees, processing payroll updates, and ensuring compliance across multiple states.

Compliance & People Operations Initiatives

  • Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Oversee safety and compliance training, tracking completion and following up as needed.
  • Assist with year-end reporting (ACA, EEO-1, W-2 distribution). 
  • Support People Operations initiatives including engagement surveys and performance reviews.
  • Manage employer awards and recognition programs.
  • Support HR policy updates and documentation management.
Required SkillsWhat You Will Need to be Successful
  • Minimum of 2 years in an HR role with exposure to payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Basic understanding of labor laws and an interest in keeping up with trends and updates in HR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Demonstrated experience working with an HRIS platform (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, BambooHR, Paylocity, UKG, Rippling, etc.)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (comfort with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and formulas is highly preferred)
  • Experience with multi-state payroll

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $75,000 and applies only to jobs performed in Culver City, California. This range represents the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Please note that we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
