Your Role
Gensler’s Boston office is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner who thrives on creativity, innovation and making an impact. This is a unique opportunity to own the HR function for an office of 100+ professionals while partnering closely with our Regional HR Operations Director and Boston’s leadership team. If you are an experienced HR Generalist ready to take the next step into a leadership role, this is your chance to grow into a trusted HR advisor in a global design firm known for innovation and collaboration.
You will be the go-to resource for all things people-related while balancing hands-on HR operations with strategic initiatives that will shape the employee experience. From onboarding and engagement to compliance and mobility, you will have the freedom to drive HR excellence locally while leveraging regional resources and best practices.
What You Will Do
Be the HR face of the Boston office - a trusted advisor and advocate for team members and leaders
Partner with regional HR leadership on all people-related issues
Own the onboarding and orientation process, ensuring every new hire feels connected and supported
Provide guidance on policies, benefits, payroll, and compliance—keeping the office informed
Analyze and create reports on HR metrics (headcount, compensation, demographics, productivity)
Coach managers on performance expectations, feedback, and improvement processes.
Handle employee relations matters, including inquiries, concerns, and investigations.
Maintain accurate employee data in Workday (HRIS) and ensure compliance with recordkeeping standards (personnel files)
Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and recommend actions for continuous improvement.
Support global mobility processes, including transfers, relocations, and visa coordination.
Champion initiatives that foster engagement, inclusion, and professional development
Lead with curiosity and confidence – bringing fresh ideas to elevate HR practices
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
8-12 years of HR experience with exposure to multiple HR functions
Experience resolving employee relations issues with sound judgement and discretion.
Ability to guide managers through performance management and documentations.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems, including reporting and data analysis
Solid understanding of employment law and compliance at federal, state, and local levels
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills—someone who inspires trust and collaboration
Experience in professional services, architecture, or engineering firms is a plus
**The base salary range will be estimated to be between $105,000 - $120,000. Gensler’s total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June.
