Overview:
Corporate Tools in Post Falls, Idaho is adding another Human Resources Business Partner to our team. You will join a team of other HR Partners and start off supporting a client group of about 300 employees and leaders. Expect for this number to continue to grow. Our vision is to create and foster a workplace that is better and more fulfilling for our employees than anywhere else. The work we do creates organizational structure to allow employees the freedom to achieve their highest potential in an environment where they are valued, respected, and challenged to do amazing stuff every day.
We're not looking for just any HR Partner, more of an HR rebel. For you, common sense rules over unnecessary processes and policies. We do what makes sense, while being legally compliant, but not getting tangled up in the corporate HR mumbo jumbo. What exactly is HR mumbo jumbo? How about those 500 page employee manuals that outline every single rule for every single possible situation that could occur. Yeah, that's not us. HR rebels... read on.
Training and onboarding takes place in office. But after the first 60 days or so, you will have the flexibility to work 2-ish days from home.
Wage:
$90,000/year
Benefits:
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
  • Annual review with raise option

  • Paid Maternity and Paternity Leave
  • Up to 6% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
  • Quarterly allowance
    • Use to make your remote work set up more comfortable, for continuing education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for your coworker, a massage for yourself... really, whatever
  • Open concept office with friendly coworkers
  • Creative environment where you can make a difference
  • No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won't cost the company much money because you won't use it
  • Trail Mix Bar --- oh yeah

Responsibilities:
  • Primary focus is our employees. Connect and collaborate daily with employees both remote and in-person. Be a resource and an advocate
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, candidates, leadership and external personnel

  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state and local employment laws and recommend best practices as they relate to policies and procedures
  • Provide support to employees and leadership in various HR-related topics such as leaves, performance management, conflict resolution and other situations as they arise
  • Work on special projects related to benefit offerings, compliance and other areas
  • Champion the culture of the company - ensuring that their unique voices, perspectives, and challenges are heard

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills in compensation strategies and practices, organization assessment, planning, design and development.
  • Experience maintaining compliance with state employment law for multiple states and building out policy, process, and best practices that help others do so.
  • Experience providing HR support to employees during periods of organizational change. This may involve helping employees adapt to new ways of thinking.
  • Ability to effectively work independently but can also collaborate with a team when needed. Takes initiative to complete tasks and improve processes.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Our company operates in a Product Organized structure with two week sprint cycles, stand ups and sprint planning. Previous experience working in sprints, breaking down projects into actionable steps with milestones and using Confluence and Jira preferred but not required. If you don't have experience working in this structure, we'll teach you, but we are looking for someone who is open and willing to work within this methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with employees, managers and stakeholders to collaborate across multiple teams in multiple locations
  • Experience establishing programs and leading them end-to-end while scaling for growth
  • A master multi-tasker and enjoy wearing all the HR hats
  • Proven ability to conduct employee relations investigations and provide appropriate recommendations and administer/manage all employee leaves

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
