Why this role matters

At Truliant Federal Credit Union, our people make our mission possible: improving lives by putting members first, providing great service, and delivering straightforward financial solutions. As a Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll help leaders create an environment where teammates feel supported, engaged, and equipped to do their best work.

This role is a meaningful opportunity for someone who enjoys being a trusted advisor, connecting people strategies to business goals, and helping teams navigate growth, change, and everyday workplace needs with confidence.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll partner closely with assigned lines of business to understand their priorities, support their leaders, and turn people insights into practical action. You’ll play a key role in strengthening employee engagement, improving retention, supporting employee relations, and helping leaders make thoughtful, people centered decisions.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Serve as a strategic HR partner and coach to leaders, helping align HR strategies with business needs, team goals, and Truliant’s values.
  • Use employee feedback, HR metrics, and workforce trends to identify opportunities that improve engagement, retention, performance, and the overall employee experience.
  • Support employee relations, onboarding, performance conversations, training needs, succession planning, change management, and compliance guidance in partnership with leaders and HR teammates.

Beyond that, your work will include collaborating across Human Resources, Training, leadership teams, and assigned business areas to create practical solutions that help teammates and the organization succeed.

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who can build trust quickly, balance care with sound judgment, and bring both strategic thinking and hands on HR partnership to the table. This role is a great fit if you are comfortable consulting with leaders, using data to guide decisions, and handling sensitive situations with professionalism and confidence.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience with a strong background in HR business partnership, employee relations, and talent management.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to influence, advise, and build productive relationships with leaders at all levels.
  • Strong employee relations capability, including coaching managers and employees through conflict resolution, workplace concerns, corrective action, policy compliance, remediation, and terminations.
  • Ability to interpret HR data, identify trends, and recommend action plans tied to hiring, retention, turnover, engagement, and performance.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, compliance requirements, and policy guidance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain sensitive or complex information clearly.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, confidentiality, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills, with comfort using a computer in a general office environment.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • HR certification required, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

You should also be comfortable shifting priorities when business needs change, maintaining confidentiality, and providing excellent service to Truliant’s members and employees.

What sets you apart

You don’t need to check every box, but here’s what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Experience supporting leaders in financial services, credit unions, banking, or another highly regulated environment.
  • Experience turning employee survey results, turnover analysis, or engagement feedback into clear action plans.
  • Exposure to workforce planning, succession planning, change management, or career progression initiatives across multiple business groups.
  • Advanced comfort with Microsoft Excel, HR reporting, or analytics tools that help translate people data into practical recommendations.
What you’ll get

We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally.

In this role, you can expect:

  • Meaningful work that directly supports Truliant teammates, leaders, and the member first mission that guides how we serve our communities.
  • A collaborative HR environment where your judgment, coaching skills, and ideas can help shape employee engagement, retention, and leadership support across assigned lines of business.
  • Opportunities to grow as a strategic HR partner through exposure to employee relations, talent planning, change management, workforce insights, and cross functional initiatives.
  • A culture focused on inclusion, belonging, flexibility, work-life balance, and helping teammates feel valued, empowered, and rewarded for the work they do.
  • Competitive benefits and teammate support, including resources that support wellbeing, development, and a rewarding career at Truliant.

People enjoy working here because the work connects back to a clear purpose: helping teammates succeed so they can create a better experience for members wherever they are on their financial journey.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
