Job Summary

 

We are in an exciting, transformative time at Nuance and this role is key to drive the change we need to ensure our continued success! We are looking for a someone who approaches work with creativity, connectivity and contagious energy to lead our many critical talent management programs at Nuance.

 

This position will partner closely with business leaders and the People Team to design, implement and drive adoption and utilization of core talent management processes, including continuous performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and development. This position will report to the Director, Talent & Organizational Development (T&OD).

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

Performance Management Lead:

  • Create and implement an innovative continuous performance management approach focused on driving thoughtful conversations and improving overall performance
  • Lead end-to-end performance management program, including global employee goal setting (MBOs), performance touchpoints, annual appraisal process, among others
  • Provide training and education of performance philosophy and processes to leaders, People Team Business Partners, and employees across the globe
  • Leverage performance metrics as inputs to other critical talent and organizational initiatives
  • Design and utilize performance management tools and systems that facilitate performance discussions and process simplification
  • Keep up to date on best practice approaches with the focus on thoughtful adoption and application at Nuance

 

Talent Review and Succession Planning:

  • Develop talent management strategies focused on accelerated development for high potentials and key talent, including designing and participating in talent review processes and supporting leaders in assessing the performance and potential of their teams
  • Ensure HIPO development plans and activities are linked to succession outcomes through key reporting and retention KPIs
  • Assess and identify significant skill gaps and partner with Leadership Development function to address high priority needs
  • Implement specific talent management programs and processes based on business and regional needs
  • Design and utilize talent management tools and systems to help facilitate and drive talent management programs and outcomes
  • Keep up to date on best practice approaches with the focus on thoughtful adoption and application at Nuance

 

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/BA minimum (Master’s degree preferred in related discipline)
  • 5+ years experience in Talent Management/Performance Management/HR
  • Proven HR Project/Program Management experience focused on talent and performance management and succession planning 
  • Experience contributing to the design, implementation and improvement of performance metrics and appraisals
  • Strong practical experience working with various performance management tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills using a variety of communication channels

 

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience working at a progressive technology solutions firm(s)

Our headquarters is in Burlington, 30 minutes from downtown Boston, right off 128 and across the street from Wayside Commons (hello, shopping!).
