The Challenge

We’re thrilled to be building a People Analytics team, and are seeking a Manager to lead us in our efforts. As a Manager of People Analytics, your success in 2018 will be measured through effective cross-functional collaboration, executing on a vision for predicting employee success, and scaling a culture of tireless focus on people data.

You’ll be charged with spearheading the definition, design, and implementation of a framework that harnesses our people data and translates it into proactive insights that enable us to better attract, grow, and predict success for our employees. In partnership with other areas of the business across recruiting operations, human resources and business intelligence, and in building a team over time, you will develop a program that leverages existing systems and data sources, as well as develop new ones, to guide and influence leaders toward effective talent acquisition, management, and leadership practices.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with the heads of Recruiting, Learning & Development, Culture, and Human Resources to build a People Analytics mission and strategy that aligns with the goals of the People team and HubSpot as a company
  • Consult with key stakeholders across the HubSpot executive team and People team to identify key hypotheses centered on employee data as predictors of performance
  • Map out key data points in the candidate and employee life cycle; identify those not currently measured and develop a collection path
  • Evaluate current sources of data, as well as tools to analyze them, and seek opportunities to elevate the efficiency of data collection and analysis
  • Drive analytical experiments and longer-term initiatives that test hypotheses and inform HubSpot on how to optimize our talent strategy
  • Regularly synthesize insights and analyses into both verbal and written presentations to executive leadership, the People team, and the HubSpot community more broadly
  • Design and build a People Analytics road map that identifies key analytical measures that align to priorities surrounding hiring, retention, employee growth, and culture

What we’re seeking

We recognize that the world of People Analytics is in its infancy, and are seeking a strong project manager who possesses remarkable creativity, exceptional problem solving capabilities, and a fierce desire to partner across the business to lead the charge through uncharted territory. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have:

Analytical Horsepower.

  • Experience collecting and analyzing large data sets to derive actionable insights; experience in Looker, Tableau, SQL, and/or R preferred
  • Understanding of the data points that map to a candidate and employee’s journey and can craft corresponding workflows
  • Exceptional talent for storytelling with data; confidence in both written and verbal communication and presentation

Project Management Experience.

  • Demonstrated success leading the execution of a core program or initiative, including problem framing, hypothesis definition, project and workstream planning, data collection and analysis, and business insight
  • Ability to streamline data from multiple sources and systems and develop a cadence of analysis and insight delivery; experience in the context of a talent or people function preferred
  • Collaborative nature and natural tendency to solve problems through a balance of autonomy and cross-functional partnership

  • A thirst for learning and continuous professional growth in the people/talent space demonstrated via additional coursework, an advanced degree, workshops and/or conference attendance
