Job Responsibilities:
  • Post-secondary education in the Human Resources field; and or equivalent HR experience.
  • 1-3 years in a Human Resources Generalist/Administrative capacity.
  • Exposure within the area of Environmental Health and Safety within manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Rights, Employment Law, OSHA, Workers Compensation, etc.
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to meet targets, goals, timelines, etc.
  • Demonstrates skills to consistently achieve commitment and consensus with all stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Workday and ADP highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates clear and respectful communication skills in all situations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Willing to work outside regular office hours when necessary to meet timeline commitments.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.
  • Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact.

DUTIES:
  • Recruitment: administer Internal Job Posting Program and assist with orientation preparation
  • Assist in scheduling divisional training; maintain training database; issue course completion documents as applicable.
  • Maintain employee personnel files in line with company policies and government regulations; retain records in line with company record retention requirements.
  • Ensure Magna's Human Resource systems and policies are consistently applied based on principles of Magna's Employee's Charter, and ensure compliance with Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Assist in administration of division drug testing program and maintain statistics.
  • Administer Workers' Compensation program.
  • Review and report out weekly attendance.
  • Participate in organizing Company social events; contests; programs (incentive and rewards programs); posts, and promotes Magna Perks.
  • Assist in Total Compensation Program.
  • Assist Health, Safety, Ergonomic and Environmental Manager by performing routine administrative and clerical duties.
  • Complies with, supports and models CBAM's operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna's. Employee's Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.
  • Complies with relevant Quality, Environmental Health and Safety programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Administer uniform, safety glasses, and safety shoe programs.
  • Provide back up to payroll processing.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from employees: eg. employment verifications, benefit plan provisions, handbook issues, job opportunities, etc,; as per company policy and legislative requirements.
  • Assist the HR Manager with HR projects, reports, programs, as required.
  • Maintain plant and office bulletin boards in up-to-date and legally compliant manner.
  • Handle confidential information and personnel files on a regular basis.
  • Perform administrative duties related to discipline process.
  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Promote and ensure full utilization of all communication channels so that continuous dialogue exists among all levels within the division.
  • Maintain high profile with employees on plant floor and be a strong advocate to ensure timely resolution of Team Member concerns and issues.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and tidy.
  • Other duties as required.
