Job Summary

Red Hat's High School Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors to gain professional development, network, and acquire meaningful work experience in a dynamic, open-source-driven environment. 

This 4-week internship is centered around a themed, team-based project aligned to real business priorities. Interns will collaborate with peers to research, analyze, and develop solutions that support Red Hat business functions.

Throughout the program, participants will build technical and professional skills while gaining exposure to how cross-functional teams contribute to Red Hat’s mission.

Program Dates

July 6 - July 31, 2026

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be available the entire 4 weeks of the program (35 hours/week); absences for vacations or other non-emergency travel are not permitted

  • COMPLETE all required application materials, including the supplemental questions by the deadline

  • Be at least 16 years old and reside in the Boston or Raleigh area

  • Be a rising junior or senior for the 2026-2027 academic school year

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good academic standing

  • Have no disciplinary actions that would restrict participation, in accordance with school policies

  • Be able to arrange reliable transportation to and from the Red Hat office for the duration of the program
