The Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer will maintain and optimize on-site and cloud computing infrastructure, manage Linux systems, security protocols, and develop infrastructure monitoring systems.
About this Role:
Pickle is on the hunt for a dynamic and driven Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer to revolutionize the future of warehouse automation. You will improve and maintain our computing infrastructure, both on-site and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will blend Linux system administration with hardware expertise and performance optimization skills to create innovative solutions for our high-performance computing needs. You will be part of our multidisciplinary team, which handles computing, DevOps, telemetry, and configuration. Our system is constantly evolving and we are tackling challenging, unsolved problems in robotic material handling. There will be plenty of opportunities to contribute to the direction of our product and its computing architecture.
What You’ll Accomplish:
- Manage on-site server infrastructure for robotic control and data processing.
- Perform operating system updates and security patches.
- Manage network performance, security protocols, and remote access infrastructure.
- Conduct comprehensive performance benchmarking of computing infrastructure and tune system configuration.
- Optimize system security, reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, provisioning, installation, and decommissioning.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and procedures.
- Interface with vendors and third-party service providers for support and procurement.
- Assist other members of the team with their responsibilities
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience managing Linux server infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of Ubuntu server administration.
- Experience with ML/AI workloads and their specific hardware, including NVIDIA Jetson.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with performance profiling, benchmarking, and Linux system optimization.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker).
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for critical issue response.
- Ability to work from our Charlestown, MA office at least three days per week
