Responsibilities:
- Review the general ledger for accuracy, identify any missing transactions, and coordinate resolution.
- Review balance sheet for accuracy and coordinate resolution of unreconciled items.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Prepare the initial draft of the monthly reporting package.
- Prepare work papers and schedules to facilitate month-end financial reporting and annual financial statement audit, annual Medicare/Medicaid cost report and other federal/state reporting requirements.
- Inform others of costs, quality, schedule, and risks related to engagement parameters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years of work experience in a professional services firm or 2+ years of private industry experience.
- Experience working in a rural healthcare accounting/finance setting preferred.
- Knowledge of FQHCs, Critical Access Hospitals, and Rural Health Clinic cost-based reimbursement preferred.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize your own work effectively.
- Ability to understand of cash, accrual, and full GAAP basis of accounting.
- Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines.
- Ability to examine data and recommend solutions.
- Occasional travel to client sites
