Position Overview:
As the VP of Solutions – Asset Owners, you will be instrumental in expanding existing client relationships and driving long-term growth within the asset owner segment, specifically focusing on pension funds and endowments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the sales cycle and go-to-market (GTM) strategies, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across functions. This position demands a deep understanding of the unique needs of these asset owners, combined with a robust professional network. You will work closely with the Sales, Client Services, Product, and Development teams to ensure that Clearwater’s offerings address market demands, facilitate revenue growth, and create a strategic product roadmap for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Strategy Development:
Develop and execute comprehensive market strategies tailored for pension funds and endowments, ensuring that Clearwater’s products and services align with their evolving needs.Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct thorough quantitative and qualitative analyses of the pension fund and endowment landscape to identify growth opportunities and risks. Produce an annual market analysis report detailing industry trends, client needs, and Clearwater’s strategic positioning.Solution Portfolio Management:
Lead the development of a cohesive framework for supplementary solutions that enhance Clearwater’s core offerings, strengthening its competitive positioning and guiding partnership or acquisition strategies.Strategic Partnerships:
Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and Chief Product Officer (CPO) to define long-term product strategies and identify potential partnership and acquisition opportunities.Client Relationship Management:
Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders among pension funds and endowments to support client expansion efforts and gather market insights. Organize and facilitate product advisory boards with senior executives to ensure alignment of Clearwater's solutions with client needs.Sales Performance Analysis:
Evaluate sales performance within the pension fund and endowment segments, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. Use insights to inform strategic priorities and investment decisions that enhance Clearwater’s competitive advantages.Thought Leadership and Industry Positioning:
Position Clearwater as an authoritative voice in investment management for pension funds and endowments by sharing valuable insights and analysis. Engage in thought leadership initiatives, including publishing articles, presenting at industry conferences, and connecting with analysts.Go-To-Market Strategy Execution:
Spearhead the strategy and implementation of go-to-market initiatives for asset management clients, ensuring effective communication and positioning of Clearwater’s value propositions. Oversee the launch process for new solutions, coordinating with cross-functional teams to align marketing, sales, and product strategies, while continuously refining tactics based on market feedback and evolving client requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is required; an MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
15+ years of progressive experience in investment management, technology solutions, or consulting, with a strong emphasis on pension funds and endowments, and a demonstrated history of leadership in overseeing multi-functional teams and complex client engagements.
Proven ability to manage global relationships with pension funds and endowments, developing strategies that cater to their unique needs.
In-depth knowledge of investment accounting, regulatory reporting, and technology solutions pertinent to the pension fund and endowment sectors.
Insightful understanding of industry challenges, regional regulations, and evolving investment practices impacting pension funds and endowments.
Exceptional relationship-building abilities, with a talent for engaging C-suite executives and senior stakeholders as a trusted advisor who provides expert guidance and insights for informed decision-making.
Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to a varied audience.
Strong analytical and data-driven approach, with proficiency in constructing and evaluating market models independently.
