The Head of Secured Financing IT is a senior leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all technology solutions and strategies that support the Secured Financing business. This includes managing IT teams across global locations, collaborating with business partners, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving innovation in systems and processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and risk management. The position reports to the Head of Financing IT and is a key contributor to the organization's overall strategy. Deep business domain expertise in Financial Services, Securities Finance, and Repo Trading is essential to ensure that technology solutions are closely aligned with State Street’s business objectives, industry practices, and evolving market needs.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the IT strategy for Secured Financing, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals and oversee software development, business requirements, and testing
- Project Delivery: Oversee the planning, budgeting, and delivery of IT projects related to Secured Financing, ensuring timely and successful implementation of new systems, upgrades, and integrations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Be a trusted advisor. Partner with business leaders, risk, compliance, and operations teams to understand requirements, delivering solutions that support business growth and risk mitigation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all Secured Financing IT systems and processes comply with relevant regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify emerging technologies and process improvements to drive operational efficiency, trading profitability, risk reduction, and enhanced client experience with Secured Financing products.
- Risk Management: Comply with enterprise resiliency, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity standards and controls, protecting sensitive financial data and ensuring business continuity.
- Vendor & Platform Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, ensuring optimal performance and value from third-party platforms and services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with significant exposure to repo trading, capital markets, and financial services.
- In-depth business domain expertise in financial services, securities finance, and repo trading.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale technology projects within a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of Secured Financing products and processes (e.g., trade lifecycle management, cleared repo through DTCC and EUREX, tri-party Repo, Peer Repo, Bank Repo, Agent Repo).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards affecting Secured Financing IT.
- Experience with modern technology stacks, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity best practices.
