Maven AGI is an enterprise AI platform on a mission to unleash business artificial general intelligence (AGI), starting with customer service. Founded in July 2023 by executives from HubSpot, Google and Stripe, Maven builds conversational AI agents capable of delivering accurate, autonomous support that delights customers at scale.

Our platform unifies fragmented systems, integrates knowledge and personalization sources, and enables intelligent actions - all without costly system changes. We’re laying the foundation for a future where our technology handles complex tasks, allowing people to focus on what they do best: creative problem-solving, relationship building, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

We’ve started by reimagining the enterprise customer experience with a support use case. We believe that today’s support experience is broken: slow and painful for customers, and expensive and human capital intensive for companies.

We are building Maven to deliver better, cheaper support, for both end users and agents. With recent advancements in Generative AI, it is now possible to deliver delightful customer experiences at a fraction of today’s cost.

Team:
Maven has assembled a world-class team from Google, Meta, Amazon, and Stripe, and is supported by executives & advisors from OpenAI, Google, HubSpot, and Stripe.

Position Overview:

As the Head of Sales Development, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), ensuring team KPIs are met and exceeded while driving strategic growth. You will play a key role in developing forecasts, refining operational processes, and optimizing the use of our tech stack. Your leadership will empower your team to build strong relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive pipeline growth for our sales teams. You will own the function end to end: people, process, tooling, and results, and have real latitude to shape the next phases of the function.

Please note this position is located onsite 4 days per week out of our Boston, MA office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead from the floor. Be a consistent, present, in-office leader for the SDR team — coaching in real time, setting the tone, and giving the team the day-to-day management that lets great talent perform at its best.

  • Level up the playbook. Work with Marketing and Sales to evolve Maven’s prospecting motion into a well-oiled outbound playbook: deeper account strategy, a balanced multi-channel cadence (call, email, social), and shared outcomes centered on pipeline quality.

  • Modernize the tooling. Lead consolidation of the SDR tech stack toward a single, modern dialer/sequencer/engagement platform (in-progress), freeing up rep time currently spent context-switching across tools.

  • Elevate the performance bar. Evolve the team's metrics from pure activity (calls made, meetings booked) toward outcomes (pipeline created, deal-creation rate) across all segments, and raise the floor on performance consistency.

  • Strengthen career pathing. Build out a clear headcount and promotion plan — defined criteria, regular career conversations, and a visible path from SDR to AE — to invest further in the team's long-term growth.

  • Build for scale. Roll out deeper sales and product enablement alongside the team's existing process training, so SDRs are fully set up to succeed, and continually improving.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales development or business development, including at least 2+ years directly managing an SDR/BDR team at a high-growth SaaS or AI company.

  • A track record of taking a talented but early-stage sales development function and up-leveling it — sharper process, better tooling, stronger management, as a company scales.

  • A track record of building repeatable outbound pipeline motions and hitting aggressive pipeline and quota targets.

  • Comfortable consolidating a multi-tool tech stack and driving adoption of a single source of truth (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot, a modern dialer/sequencer such as Nooks, Outreach, or Salesloft).

  • Experienced hiring, coaching, and promoting SDRs/BDRs into AE and other GTM roles.

  • Data-driven — comfortable diagnosing funnel health and channel mix, and building the plan to continuously improve them.

  • A hands-on, floor-present leadership style — you set the tone by being there with the team, not managing from a distance.

  • Genuinely excited about AI and comfortable articulating a technical value proposition to a wide range of buyers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA or technical certification is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • Be at the forefront of AI innovation and transform the enterprise customer support industry.

  • Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and meaningful equity opportunities.

  • A diverse and welcoming work environment where everyone’s voice is heard.

  • Opportunities for personal and career growth in a fast-moving, high-growth company.

What unites us is our values:

  • Do right for our customers

  • We are data-driven

  • Be entrepreneurial

  • Strive to be better, together

Maven AGI is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and is committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels included.
