Overview
As the Head of Platform Strategy and Operations, you are a visionary and strategic leader responsible for driving the development and implementation of our data and AI platform strategies that demonstrably achieve improved business performance. You will collaborate across the enterprise to architect the data, analytics and AI platform and technology strategy for Guardian, which includes defining and applying data, machine learning and artificial intelligence products and solutions to customer journeys, business unit capabilities and new and existing products. Successful leaders in the role have extensive management consulting and strategy experience in insurance and financial services with a passion for data, analytics and AI innovation.
Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Strategy Development: Develop and execute Guardian’s Data and AI platform and engineering strategy aligned with our goals and objectives. Build the required data and analytic functional strategies and partner with business unit (BU) technology and D&AI lead for their BU plans and roadmaps to execute.
- Platform Operations: Accountable for the delivery on key transformational projects, managing budget and funding cycles, identify and deliver strategic investments, ensuring successful operational execution through monthly reviews, KPI tracking, manage team budget in US and with Guardian India.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with executives, business units and technology. Bring alignment between technologists and business leads; help them to achieve business objectives with generative AI, machine learning, and automation and to develop a roadmap to efficiently deliver business value.
- Executive communication: Drive content and cadences for required executive content and operating reviews on data and AI. Evangelize opportunities to audiences of various levels (developers to executives) and backgrounds
- Innovation and Trends: Stay up-to-date with advancements in data science, AI and machine learning. Identify innovation opportunities and lead efforts to explore new applications of data and AI
- External Partners: Identify and cultivate key third-party relationships that accelerate learning and implantation of data and AI capabilities.
- You are business first, analytically driven, intellectually curious, and experienced leading the development and implementation of data and AI solutions to solve challenging business problems. These solutions enable business team members to leverage data and actionable insights to make better decisions across the value chain.
- You are fueled by collaboration and are able to transform conceptual thinking into executable insights and actions.
- You enjoy collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team including data engineers, business analysts, software developers and functional business experts and business leaders.
- You are able to guide and oversee a portfolio of projects and data science solutions while helping business partners realize value in their respective business domains.
- You are highly influential through your thought leadership and ability to impact the bottom line.
- 10+ years of relevant management consulting and industry experience and with demonstrated track of P&L contribution, execution focus and value realization.
- 5+ years’ experience of being a change leader who can challenge the process in collaborative and highly effective ways.
- Track record of building strategies and plans that balance the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with the senior executive/ management level.
- Proven experience carrying out supervisory responsibilities as leader of managers for at least 5+ or more people.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT or Management or equivalent work experience, required. Advanced certifications / master’s degree preferred.
- Ability to plan & prioritize and execute multiple tasks under tight timelines.
- Experience in effectively leading and delivering across matrixed organizations, directing the activities of multiple teams and dozens of teammates. Have led engagements supported by 20+ contributors across the matrixed organization
- Experience and excellent knowledge of digital tools and services, AI/ML, cloud environments, automation, and operational data and AI.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with superb attention to detail.
- New York City or Boston MA. Three days a week in the office.

Salary Range:
$148,940.00 - $244,685.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
