Osano is hiring a Head of People Ops to design, lead, and evolve the next chapter of our People function. We’re looking for a hands-on, systems-minded leader who sees people as a strategic growth lever, someone who’s excited to build scalable programs, strengthen manager effectiveness, and create an environment where employees can do their best work.
This role blends strategy and action. You’ll partner closely with executives to align People priorities to business goals, while also rolling up your sleeves to refine processes, implement performance systems, and foster a high-trust, high-performance culture. The ideal candidate is an experienced People Operations leader who thrives in operational clarity, embraces technology (including AI) to streamline work, and is energized by scaling a remote-first team.

The RoleTalent Growth and Acquisition
- Design and implement scalable systems for performance management, learning, and manager development that strengthen organizational capabilities.
- Develop career pathing frameworks that enable internal mobility, skill growth, and succession readiness.
- Partner with hiring managers and recruiters to ensure a strong, diverse talent pipeline and consistent, high-quality candidate experience.
Strategic Workforce Planning
- Act as a strategic partner to the executive team on org design, workforce planning, and talent strategy, aligning People priorities with business objectives.
- Lead headcount planning and hiring operations in close collaboration with Finance and functional leaders, ensuring accurate, transparent forecasting.
- Build scalable systems that strengthen feedback loops, increase planning accuracy, and surface actionable insights.
People Infrastructure and Compliance
- Refine and manage People systems—including compensation, benefits, and HR platforms—with a focus on scalability, automation, and ownership.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies across all U.S. states and applicable international jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain People analytics dashboards for real-time visibility into engagement, sentiment, turnover, and hiring performance.
Culture and Employee Experience
- Foster an inclusive, high-trust culture across our remote-first team through thoughtful programs, connection opportunities, and recognition.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—with equity, clarity, and engagement at the forefront.
- Build continuous feedback loops to translate employee and manager input into measurable performance and culture improvements.
About You
Must-Have Experience
- 8+ years of HR experience (such as: talent acquisition, people operations, compensation), as well as 2+ years owning a People Ops function in a high-growth environment.
- Deep knowledge of modern HR practices across compliance, culture, performance management, and compensation design.
- Proven ability to scale People systems during growth, reorganization, or evolving business needs.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to operationalize ideas into scalable, repeatable processes.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with experience partnering across all levels of an organization.
- Practical understanding of where AI and automation add value in People Ops, with real examples of driving efficiency and insight.
- Familiarity with tools like Justworks, CultureAmp, Greenhouse, and Slack.
- Track record of leading with trust, empathy, and a culture-first mindset in a remote or distributed environment.

Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in tech, software, or SaaS—especially in high-growth or remote-first companies.
- Professional HR certifications (SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
- Experience designing programs for compliance across international jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with Justworks, CultureAmp, Greenhouse, Slack
Compensation
Based on your skills and experience, you can expect your annual base compensation to be between $160,000 and $175,000. We want everyone at Osano to have a stake in our success, so you'll also receive stock options upon joining the company.
