If you have a growth mindset, naturally like to think big and bold, and are energized by the fast-paced environment of a true industry disruptor, you’ll find your place here.  We value winning together—while learning, having fun, and making a profound difference for the dreamers and builders in the world.

DigitalOcean is seeking a Head of Marketing to define how our story is told — externally through brand, launches, and campaigns, and internally through powerful sales enablement and positioning. In close partnership with our Sales and Product teams, this leader will amplify what makes our platform distinct and convert that awareness into measurable business growth. You’ll be joining DigitalOcean at an exciting inflection point — where our strong foundation in developer and cloud audiences meets accelerating momentum in AI. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we position and tell the story of our combined Core and AI offerings in market, expanding on the traction already underway and taking it to the next level.

You’ll lead a talented, multi-disciplinary marketing organization that tells the DigitalOcean story with creativity and conviction — ensuring every product launch, event, and message reinforces our mission to make the cloud simpler, more accessible, and scalable. You’ll also leverage AI-driven insights, automation, and personalization to scale storytelling and optimize marketing performance for impact.

Reporting to the Head of Growth & Marketing, you’ll collaborate closely with leaders across Product, Sales, Developer Relations, and Growth to execute a unified go-to-market strategy that drives awareness, strengthens close rates, and accelerates multi-product expansion.

What You’ll Do

Lead and scale a world-class marketing organization.
Inspire, develop, and empower a high-performing team across Product Marketing, PR, Brand & Design, and Field Marketing — fostering operational excellence, creative ingenuity, and accountability to clear outcomes.

Evolve and strengthen our brand.
Shape unified brand narrative and positioning that brings clarity and emotional resonance to how DigitalOcean connects with developers, digital native enterprises, and growing businesses worldwide.

Drive launches that land with impact.
Collaborate with Product and Growth to ensure every launch tells a differentiated story — one that highlights real value, creates market buzz, and leads to measurable awareness and adoption gains.

Empower our sales teams to win.
Build enablement tools, content, and programs that help Sales close faster, expand deeper, and amplify the unique strengths of DigitalOcean’s platform across every conversation.

Connect awareness to revenue.
Ensure our brand and event investments translate into pipeline, conversion, and customer expansion. Partner with Growth to align awareness-driven initiatives with self-serve and sales-assisted acquisition funnels.

Key Success Metrics
  • Event-driven pipeline contribution
  • Multi-product deal penetration
  • Brand awareness growth
  • Product launch impact
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • 12+ years in marketing leadership, including 5+ years leading cross-functional teams across Product Marketing, Brand, PR, and Field Marketing within SaaS, cloud, or developer-focused companies. Proven ability to translate Marketing strategy into measurable pipeline, awareness, and revenue outcomes.
  • A proven record of turning creativity into measurable business outcomes — from event-driven pipeline growth to deal expansion through sales enablement and storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of technical and developer audiences, with the ability to translate complex cloud and AI products into simple, powerful narratives.
  • Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with Product, Growth, and Sales — balancing long-term brand strategy with short-term executional urgency.
  • A data-driven mindset that connects awareness, engagement, and revenue into one cohesive story.
  • A builder’s spirit: strategic, curious, and passionate about developing teams, systems, and stories that scale.
