About The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to own and lead go-to-market—everything from strategy to execution. This role is both strategic and hands-on. You'll be the first full-time marketing hire, working directly with the CEO.

What You’ll Do
  • Own marketing strategy end-to-end across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise segments

  • Define and evolve core positioning & messaging that differentiates Dakota and resonates with our audience

  • Shape and grow our brand: from visual identity to thought leadership presence

  • Launch a content & thought leadership engine including customer stories, industry insights, newsletters, and product updates.

  • Build predictable lead generation programs to deliver a steady pipeline of qualified prospects.

  • Partner with product and sales to create GTM playbooks, onboarding flows, and upsell campaigns

  • Drive partnerships marketing to extend reach through co-marketing and ecosystem relationships

  • Establish marketing KPIs, track performance, and optimize campaigns for impact

Who You Are
  • A strategic operator with 8+ years of experience in B2B or fintech marketing

  • You’ve built marketing programs from 0 to 1 (or 1 to 10) and know what good execution looks like

  • Comfortable switching between positioning, partnerships, and campaign management

  • Clear, crisp communicator—especially in writing

  • Bonus: experience with crypto, banking-as-a-service, or working with startup/VC ecosystems

What We Offer
  • Engaging problems that increase economic freedom globally

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Employee-friendly equity terms (extended exercise)

  • Remote work, no commuting to the office

  • Paid co-working space/desk at an office

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Regular team events and off-sites

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
