About the Company

Founded in New York City in 1948, David Webb is an iconic, luxury design House whose namesake founder redefined high jewelry. Known for creating exquisitely crafted, bold and unique jewelry, David Webb is widely considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century.

Each David Webb creation is imbued with artisanal excellence and handwork, while drawing inspiration from a vast archive of over 40,000 original renderings, records, and design ideas. Form is essential in all David Webb jewels, and bold color, hand-hammered gold, intricate enamel work, and whimsical animals continue to be prominently featured in the company’s collections.

David Webb jewelry is highly sought after by leading tastemakers and style influencers, receiving continuous, prominent editorial coverage in leading publications, and serving as a go-to brand for celebrities on the red carpet.

We are headquartered at a luxury House on Madison Avenue in New York’s Upper East Side; above the flagship boutique, the 942 Madison Avenue location houses an atelier of long-tenured master jewelers who create each piece - making David Webb the only fine jewelry house which is exclusively made in America - and who continue to imbue each original piece with artisanal excellence.

About the Role

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for building and driving marketing for the brand. You’ll be directly responsible for both the tactical day-to-day and long-term strategy required to communicate in the voice of one of the world's great jewelry brands.

We’re a lean team, and you'll need to be a hands-on builder, working across the entire organization to help craft, hone and deliver our message across all platforms. We are looking for someone who is located in or near the NYC area, as this role will be in-person at our NYC headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute a handful of exceptional, high-luxury, on-budget (!) events around the world each year, catering to some of the world's most discerning jewelry customers

  • Develop and implement DW’s communications, public relations, celebrity/influencer, and other "front-facing" activities

  • Coordinate, nurture & sustain media interest in DW, the brand. Ensure regular and consistent editorial content for DW in the major outlets, managing media relations and maximizing media opportunities whenever possible

  • Develop and produce branded content creation, ranging from brand shoots with top talent to consistent digitally-based content feeds

  • Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness (such as growing the DW mailing list) as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities

  • Work closely with partners - both business and individual - who will help build awareness and affinity for David Webb

  • Take ownership of the functions across the business required to build an exceptional worldwide marketing capability.

Your Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in marketing, focused on luxury

  • Fluency with digital work platforms. From day one, you'll need to be fluent in Gsuite and Microsoft Office products (especially excel / sheets), and you'll need to learn Microsoft Dynamics to be effective. If you're good at Photoshop, Canva, and other core creative platforms, it's a strong plus

  • Direct experience creating, building, and personally executing effective, brand-consistent communications and events

  • Both analytical and creative competencies -- equally comfortable with copy and data, and able to address ROI questions within the comms world

  • Proven track record of driving significant, impactful editorial coverage across all platforms, building successful events, and driving relevant influencer programs

  • Hands-on and detail-oriented; have been an integral member of a small marketing function with limited resources. Excited about rolling up your sleeves to get things done, but also able to manage and delegate when needed

  • Ability to work closely across organizations, including merchandising, sales, and operations, to bring market-driven insights to communications planning

  • Passionate about jewelry, and able to relate to what makes customers and wholesalers happy.

The position will be based in our corporate headquarters on the Upper East Side of New York. This is not a remote role, and relocation candidates will not be considered.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. The company has recently examined its peer set and now offers a highly competitive benefits package.
