As the Head of Marketing & Storytelling, you will establish and execute the marketing strategy, enhance brand presence, and drive storytelling for CYVL's sustainable infrastructure solutions, while leading a new marketing team.

The Mission

Every road you drive on, every bridge you cross, every pipe under your feet — none of it has a digital record. Physical infrastructure is the largest unindexed domain on earth. $106 trillion in global investment is needed by 2040. There’s no telemetry. No version history. No API.

CYVL is changing that. We’re building the first living, queryable digital record of public infrastructure — the Infrastructure Intelligence Index (I3). Think of it as version control for the physical world. We capture cities at sub-inch precision using LiDAR, sensor fusion, and 50+ AI models, then deliver intelligence that governments use to make better decisions about the roads, bridges, and utilities that serve millions of people every day.

We already work with 500+ U.S. cities. We’re directly impacting how hundreds of millions of taxpayers experience their infrastructure — and we’re just getting started. We’re building at the intersection of civic technology, physical AI, geospatial analytics, and civil engineering. We have competitive wins against firms 1,000x our size, a pilot with USPS, partnerships with Autodesk and NVIDIA, and a Series B on the horizon.

We need someone to make sure the world knows.

The Role

You will be the first senior marketing leader at CYVL. You will own how the market experiences our company — every touchpoint, every channel, every stage we stand on. This is not a “manage the agency” role. This is a “build the machine” role.

You are equal parts brand architect, storyteller, and operator. You’ll set the strategy and then execute it yourself, using AI-native tools to move at a pace that would normally require a team of five.

What You Will Own
  • Market presence and brand. CYVL’s website, visual identity, and every public-facing asset. Our website needs to be world-class. Our conference booths need to command attention. Every deck, one-pager, and announcement should look and feel like a category leader.

  • Narrative and positioning. CYVL sits at the intersection of infrastructure, AI, and government. We coined “infrastructure intelligence” and we are a leader in what NVIDIA calls “Physical AI.” You will sharpen this positioning and make it stick.

  • Press and media. A startup beating $50B incumbents. AI applied to roads, bridges, and pipes instead of chatbots. USPS postal vehicles becoming infrastructure sensors. These stories write themselves — you will get us the coverage.

  • Social and digital. LinkedIn is our primary channel. Our audience is government leaders, infrastructure engineers, investors, and AI researchers. You will build and run a content engine from scratch.

  • Conferences and events. GovTech, ASCE, TRB, GTC, and AI conferences. You will decide where we show up, submit us for stages, prep materials, and when needed, represent CYVL directly.

  • Customer storytelling. We have incredible success stories across 500+ cities — real impact on residents, taxpayers, and quality of life — and nobody is telling them yet. Case studies, video, thought leadership, whitepapers.

  • CEO and executive brand. Build the CEO’s public profile — LinkedIn, speaking engagements, op-eds, thought leadership. Position CYVL’s leadership as trusted voices in infrastructure and AI.

  • Partner co-marketing. Work with Autodesk, OpenGov, ClearGov, and other partners to co-market, create joint content, and get their teams hyped about what we’re building together.

  • Investor communications support. Series B is on the horizon. You will support the CEO with materials, positioning, and narrative for the fundraise.

What We’re Looking For
  • 7–10 years of marketing experience. Ideally in govtech, infrastructure, B2B SaaS, or deep tech. You have built a marketing function before — not just inherited one.

  • Brand-first mindset. You think about how the market perceives a company, not just how many leads came in. You obsess over quality, consistency, and reputation.

  • A strong writer and communicator. You can take a complex technical product and make it clear, compelling, and human. You can also walk into a room with a partner’s marketing team and sell them on a co-marketing vision.

  • AI-native. You use generative AI tools daily to scale your output. You don’t need a team of ten — you need the right tools and the judgment to use them.

  • Comfort with technical products. You don’t need to read LiDAR point clouds, but you need to understand why they matter and translate that for a non-technical audience.

  • A bias toward building. We have almost nothing in place. You will create the playbook, hire the team over time, and execute simultaneously.

  • Experience with government or regulated markets is a strong plus. Understanding the sales cycle, the stakeholders, and the language of public sector is a real advantage.

What Makes CYVL Different
  • We own the data. Every legacy player sells empty software. We capture, process, and deliver the intelligence. This is a fundamentally different business model.

  • The market is enormous and uncontested. $50B+ addressable market. No category leader. We are building the category.

  • We are entering the Physical AI era. Our data is architecturally native to NVIDIA Cosmos, world models, and simulation engines. This is a generational platform shift.

  • We are winning. Nashville, Buffalo, Philadelphia, New York City — against firms 1,000x our size. Three NFL-city RFP wins in a single month.

  • Location: Somerville, MA (on-site). 10–25% travel for conferences, partner meetings, and customer events.

  • Reports to: CEO & Co-Founder

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
