About Eyebot

Eyebot is an outcome-focused technology company on a mission to make vision care accessible to everyone, equally. Headquartered in Boston’s North End and backed by top investors and the National Science Foundation, our vision test kiosk is reshaping how vision care is delivered. If you are passionate about solving big problems and building the future of vision care, we would love to hear from you.

Role Overview

Eyebot is seeking a Head of Finance to own and execute the company’s day-to-day financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring financial accuracy, visibility, and operational rigor, enabling the VP of Operations and executive team to focus on forecasting, strategic planning, and business decision-making.

The Head of Finance will manage core financial processes including accounting, cash management, vendor payments, budgeting support, and financial reporting, while also supporting capital planning and external financial relationships. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in an early-stage environment and enjoys building scalable financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Accounting

  • Own day-to-day financial operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, expense management, and general ledger oversight

  • Maintain accurate monthly closes and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness

  • Partner with external accountants, tax advisors, and payroll providers

Cash & Vendor Management

  • Manage cash flow tracking and short-term liquidity visibility

  • Oversee vendor payments, invoicing processes, and contract-linked financial obligations

  • Support procurement-related financial workflows, including equipment purchases and supplier terms

Reporting & Executive Support

  • Prepare regular financial reporting packages for the VP of Operations, providing clear insight into spend, burn, and operational performance

  • Support the VP of Operations with clean, reliable financial inputs used for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning

  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards and operating metrics

Capital & Financial Planning Support

  • Assist with financial analysis related to equipment investments, infrastructure scaling, and growth initiatives

  • Support financing-related activities, including research, documentation, and coordination with external partners as needed

  • Contribute to longer-term financial planning, fundraising support, and investor reporting

Process Improvement & Scale

  • Build and refine scalable finance processes appropriate for a regulated, hardware-enabled startup

  • Improve documentation, controls, and financial discipline as the company grows

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, regulatory, engineering, and leadership teams

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or operational finance roles

  • Experience in startups or high-growth environments strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, cash management, and financial operations

  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks)

  • Comfortable owning execution while supporting strategic decision-making

  • Strong attention to detail paired with the ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting hardware, healthcare, or regulated businesses

  • Exposure to equipment financing, capital planning, or fundraising support

  • Prior experience working closely with operations or supply-chain teams

Why This Role Matters

This role is foundational to Eyebot’s ability to scale responsibly. By owning the financial engine of the company, the Head of Finance enables leadership to move faster, make better decisions, and invest confidently in growth all while maintaining the rigor required in healthcare and clinical environments.

What We Offer:
  • Compensation: $115,000-$145,000 base salary, commensurate with experience

  • A culture where all ideas are welcome, no matter how out there — that's how Eyebot started, and it's how we keep moving forward
