Areas of Responsibility
- Team Leadership & Growth: Hire, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Foster a culture of action, agency, learning, and collaboration.
- Execution & Delivery: Spend 50% of your time with the engineering team shipping features, unblocking teammates, and reviewing architecture. Own the delivery of product and platform workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes in close partnership with Product and Design.
- Engineering Operations: Improve team processes, increase velocity, and support technical excellence in everything from code quality to system reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders across the company to translate priorities into actionable technical work, and proactively remove blockers.
- Hands-On Technical Guidance: Stay close to the code and architecture. Reviewing work, advising on decisions, and jumping in to help move things forward.
- Scaling Systems & Teams: Help shape the long-term structure of the engineering organization and prepare the team for future growth in both complexity and size.
Ideal Qualifications for this Position
- 5–10+ years of experience in software engineering, including people leadership experience (as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Director)
- Track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments (ideally in a Seed to Series B stage company)
- Strength in team execution and delivery management. Able to break down complex projects and keep things moving
- Strong coaching skills with a passion for developing engineers and fostering inclusive, healthy team culture
- Experience working closely with Product and Design to scope work, set priorities, and align on outcomes
- Solid understanding of modern development practices, architecture, and infrastructure
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into technical work
Other Important Information about this Position
- This position is primarily remote, but we are seeking candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area to enable more in person collaboration with other team members up to 2 days/week. Occasional travel to our Denver, Colorado office may be required.
- The exact title and scope of this role will be shaped by the experience and strengths of the person we hire. We’re open to Engineering Manager or Director-level candidates.
- The ability to work productively and without interruption or distraction during Mountain Time business hours is essential. Will need to collaborate with engineers based in Europe as necessary.

- Salary for this role is $160,000 - $210,000 + Bonus & Equity (Based on experience)
