As Head of Engineering, you will lead engineering strategy, grow teams, oversee AI initiatives, and ensure high-quality coding standards for scalable financial guidance solutions.
About Addition Wealth
The future of personal finance is being redefined—and Addition Wealth is building it. Today’s earners don’t need outdated models or one-size-fits-all advice. They need smart, personalized guidance that meets them where they are—at work, through their bank, and on their phone. We combine expert human advice, intuitive design, and AI-powered personalization to help people make confident decisions about everything from equity to everyday budgeting. With distribution unlocked—via employer benefits and partnerships with financial institutions—we’re delivering the next generation of financial guidance at scale.
The Role
As Head of Engineering, you’ll be part of our executive team and own the vision, strategy, and execution of our technical roadmap—including how we scale our platform and our team. You’ll help us 3x the engineering org in the next 12–18 months and build a product that blends consumer-grade quality with enterprise-grade reliability.
You’ll also lead our AI initiatives: building systems that use LLMs and agentic workflows to deliver smarter, more proactive financial guidance. You’ll set the technical bar, drive innovation, and shape a culture of high ownership and velocity.
Our current stack includes TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, Nest.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS. We’re looking for someone excited to scale with this foundation—and evolve it where needed to meet the needs of our users and partners.
What You'll Do
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team (3x in the next 12–18 months)
- Own technical architecture and infrastructure as we scale to millions of users
- Oversee our AI roadmap—developing intelligent, personalized, and automated guidance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a product that’s user centric, intuitive, and deeply valuable
- Set a high standard for code quality, performance, and engineering excellence
- Foster a team culture built on ownership, speed, and thoughtful execution
Who You Are
- A true owner—you take full responsibility for outcomes and empower others to do the same
- A startup-tested engineering leader who’s scaled systems and teams through rapid growth
- Hands-on enough to write code, lead technical decisions, and earn the trust of top engineers
- A product-obsessed builder who cares deeply about the user experience
- Skilled in designing scalable systems and excited to apply AI/LLM-based solutions to real-world problems
- Decisive, clear, and adaptable—you bring focus and momentum in fast-moving environments
Why Join Us?
- Build the future of financial guidance—personalized, intelligent, and accessible
- Join a mission-driven team that’s combining fintech, AI, and human empathy
- Own engineering at a company with strong traction and even bigger ambition
- Remote-first with NYC roots—we care more about outcomes than location
If you're ready to build, lead, and innovate at the intersection of financial access and AI—we’d love to hear from you.
