Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Domains team at Marsh Corporate. This role will be based near a Marsh office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Head of Data Domains is a strategic leader accountable for converting enterprise data strategy into governed, reusable and widely-adopted domain data products that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role leads the definition, prioritization and activation of enterprise data domains, ensuring clear boundaries, authoritative data ownership, consistent business meaning and fit-for-purpose products that enable operational, analytical and AI use cases.

You will orchestrate architecture, engineering, ingestion, governance, regional and analytical capabilities to transform fragmented enterprise data into trusted, reusable products. This is not a data-modeling or governance-only role—you own domain-product outcomes from business-problem definition through delivery, adoption and measurable value realization. You will report to the Global Head of Data Strategy & Domains and lead a global team of Domain Product Leaders, analysts and specialists.

We will count on you to:

  • Establish and maintain the authoritative enterprise domain-product portfolio, translating business priorities into executable domain roadmaps and success measures aligned with enterprise strategy.

  • Own end-to-end domain activation—converting business problems into domain-product initiatives, applying tracer tests to validate data flows, and driving adoption by operational applications, analytics, reporting and AI capabilities.

  • Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology enabled tools.

  • Orchestrate cross-functional capabilities across architecture, engineering, ingestion, governance, regional and analytical teams to deliver reusable domain products without duplicating peer responsibilities.

  • Assign and develop accountable Domain Product Leaders for each activated domain, ensuring clear ownership, defined acceptance criteria and commitment to measurable business value.

  • Build a high-performing global domain-product organization across multiple locations, establish communities of practice and promote a culture of personal accountability, transparency and delivery.

What you need to have:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in enterprise data leadership, data products, data domains, or architecture roles with proven success converting data strategy into production capabilities and measurable business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience leading data products from discovery through delivery, adoption and lifecycle management across operational, analytical and AI-oriented use cases within federated global organizations.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, domain modeling, metadata, data quality, governance and integration with the ability to lead through influence in matrixed environments where teams do not report directly to you.

What makes you stand out:

  • Insurance, risk, benefits, financial-services or similarly complex regulated-industry experience demonstrating how to balance enterprise consistency with regional needs across businesses and geographies.

  • Proven track record building and developing multidisciplinary, geographically distributed teams; experience establishing communities of practice and repeatable delivery models that scale across organizations.

  • Ability to move comfortably between business strategy and technical detail, simplify complex concepts for senior executives and business users, and use evidence and working implementations to resolve debate.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.

  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.

  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)

  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
