We're Scan.com. We're building America's national imaging network: the infrastructure that connects patients, providers, and payers to faster, better-value diagnostic imaging. Thousands of patients move through our platform every day, and each is a real person waiting for an answer to a healthcare concern. We exist to get them that answer faster.

We manage the medical imaging pathway end-to-end. Providers order through a single point of entry, and from there, we run the entire medical diagnostic pathway. Managing the full pathway, rather than brokering pieces of it, is what lets us deliver imaging faster, at higher quality, and at a lower cost than the fragmented status quo.

Our work brings together access to imaging centers, ordering, scheduling, and delivery. We're building a business that makes this process easier for patients and for the organizations responsible for their care. We've raised over $200m in VC funding.

We're looking for a Head of Consultant Relations to help build the next stage of Scan.com.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE IN THIS ROLE:

You will build and lead Scan.com's national consultant and broker relations function, reporting to the Head of Employer Sales. You will recruit, coach, and manage a planned team of three Directors of Consultant Relations who report directly to you, owning the team's strategy, account coverage, and commercial contribution. This is a hands-on leadership role: alongside leading the team, you will personally own priority consulting-firm relationships and stay involved in live employer opportunities. Your team will own consultant engagement and influence, while Employer Account Executives lead employer sales and contracts.

As a scaleup business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you could be getting involved in:

  • Set the national consultant strategy and operating model, allocating named firms and offices across the three Directors, defining clear account ownership, and aligning coverage and employer opportunity plans with Sales.

  • Recruit, onboard, and coach the Director team. Set individual and team goals, review account plans and deal progress, and hold each Director accountable for relationship quality and commercial contribution.

  • Personally develop senior relationships across priority consulting firms, including benefits, clinical advisory, and analytics leaders. Explain Scan.com's imaging model and evidence, and help the team navigate how each firm evaluates solutions and recommends them to employers.

  • Turn relationships into qualified introductions, RFP invitations, finalist opportunities, and wins. Stay involved in employer evaluations to address objections and help the sales team move deals forward.

  • Work with Solutions Consulting, Finance, and Analytics to build credible employer business cases, making the assumptions behind projected savings, utilization, and access clear.

  • Equip consultants with useful presentations, evaluation materials, case studies, and education sessions in partnership with Marketing and commercial leadership.

  • Own reporting on consultant-sourced and consultant-influenced pipeline, revenue, win rates, and relationship coverage. Agree attribution with Sales and commercial leadership and use results to improve where we invest time and resources.

  • Bring market feedback into Product, Network, and Operations, and work with Client Success when client delivery affects consultant confidence or creates expansion opportunities.

WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE:

You don't need to tick all the boxes to apply for this role. We believe everyone can add value, learn, and grow. These are some of the experiences and capabilities that would help you succeed:

  • A track record of turning benefits consultant and broker relationships into employer opportunities and commercial results.

  • Established senior relationships across priority benefits consulting and brokerage firms, such as Mercer, Aon, WTW, Gallagher, or Lockton, with evidence of turning national influence into local employer opportunities.

  • A practical understanding of self-funded employer benefits, buying cycles, and the roles of employers, consultants, health plans, and third-party administrators.

  • The ability to explain healthcare economics, clinical evidence, network access, and implementation requirements without overstating the case.

  • Experience building a consultant-relations strategy within an employer health solution, influencing complex sales, and creating the account ownership, enablement, and measurement practices needed to scale a function.

  • Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and manage commercial or consultant-relations professionals, set clear goals, and improve team performance while personally owning important relationships.

AI REQUIREMENTS

At Scan.com, AI isn't a side project; it's how we work. For a member of this team, that means using AI daily to draft, check, and move faster. For the person leading this team, the bar is higher: you're expected to see where AI and agentic tooling can restructure the work itself, not just speed up your own tasks.

Tier 3 — AI-Building

You use AI daily in your own work, and you actively identify and help build automations or agentic workflows that change how your team operates — not just personal productivity gains. You know how to evaluate whether an AI-driven process is safe and reliable enough for sensitive patient data before rolling it out to the team.

A VIEW ON OUR CULTURE

We're building something that matters. Every scan we speed up is a real person waiting on an answer, and that urgency runs through everything we do. We move fast, own outcomes, and take pride in our output. If you like ambiguity, working with ambitious people, and want your work to visibly move the needle, you'll feel at home here. For you to be successful at Scan.com, you must embody our values.

HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU
  1. Introductory call with our Talent Partner — roughly 30 minutes.

  2. Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you back to a video call with the hiring manager – roughly 45 minutes. This is a more structured interview that will deep-dive into the role and technical needs

  3. ‘Scan Standard’ interview, where our panel screens for values alignment and the success factors that matter at Scan.com. You will also be assessed on your AI fluency at the stage and depth relevant to your role (see AI requirements above).

  4. Meet the founders and/or other team members. Again, length varies depending on how many people and whether in person or via video call.

  5. Offer!

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Annual base salary of $300,000, $525,000 OTE expectation

  • Equity

  • Flexible remote or hybrid work options

  • Dedicated personal development budget

  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage

  • 28+ days of paid time off across PTO and wellbeing days

  • Paid parental leave

  • 401k retirement plan

  • All the equipment you need to do your best work

  • Inclusive policies designed by our team, for our team

DIVERSITY AT SCAN.COM

Scan.com is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity within our team. We strive to provide equality and fairness for all job applicants and employees and never discriminate on the basis of gender, marital status, age, race, ethnicity, religion, or physical differences.

We are opposed to all forms of unlawful treatment and discrimination.

Our ambition is for our team to be representative of society's diversity, and for every employee to feel respected and able to bring their best selves to work.
