Augmodo is at the forefront of spatial computing, using AI and wearable technology to transform physical retail spaces into dynamic digital environments. Our wearable devices capture real-time 3D mapping and inventory data, empowering retail teams to work smarter while giving businesses unprecedented visibility into their physical operations.
Role OverviewAs the first dedicated Head of Communications at Augmodo, you won’t just be managing a brand; you’ll be defining a category. We are at a pivotal Series A inflection point, moving from "stealth disruptor" to "industry standard."
You will report directly to the CEO, serving as a strategic partner to the executive team. Your mission is to craft a narrative that resonates with enterprise customers, talent, and investors, ensuring Augmodo is the first name mentioned when discussing the future of spatial computing and retail automation.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Narrative & Positioning: Own the Augmodo story. You’ll refine our value proposition to ensure we aren’t just "another tech tool," but an essential infrastructure for the modern physical world.
Media Relations: Build and maintain high-impact relationships with tech, retail, and business press. You’ll be responsible for securing consistent, high-quality coverage in outlets like The Verge, WSJ, TechCrunch, and key industry trades.
Executive Visibility: Turn our founders into thought leaders. You will manage speaking engagements, op-eds, and social media presence (specifically LinkedIn) to build authority in the spatial AI space.
Product & Launch PR: Lead the communication strategy for new feature releases, partnership announcements, and future funding rounds.
Crisis & Reputation Management: Develop a proactive framework to protect the brand as we scale and navigate the complexities of enterprise data and AI.
Internal Communications: As we double our headcount, you’ll ensure our internal mission is clear, keeping the team aligned and motivated.
Experience: 7–10+ years in PR/Comms, ideally with time spent at a high-growth SaaS or DeepTech startup.
Category Creation: A proven track record of taking complex technical concepts (AI, AR, Computer Vision) and making them digestible and compelling for a broad audience.
Media Rolodex: Existing deep relationships with Tier-1 business and technology journalists.
Scrappiness: You are a "department of one" who can think at a 30,000-foot level but isn't afraid to write the press release or pitch the reporter yourself.
Clarity: Exceptional writing skills. You hate jargon and believe that brevity is a superpower.
