What You'll Do:

As the Manager of Hardware Engineering – NPI, you will lead and expand a team responsible for the design validation, integration, and deployment of new hardware systems at scale. Your team will bridge the gap between hardware design, manufacturing, and large-scale deployment — ensuring new technologies are introduced efficiently, validated rigorously, and delivered reliably.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Operations, Data Center, and Systems Engineering, to define technical requirements, optimize performance, and establish scalable processes for hardware deployment.

About The Role:
  • Team Leadership & Growth
    • Build and lead a world-class multidisciplinary NPI team (mechanical, thermal, electrical, and power engineers).
    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Develop measurable goals for the team and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Program & Process Ownership
    • Oversee the full NPI lifecycle: from early design validation and prototyping through volume ramp and production handoff.
    • Define and refine processes for hardware bring-up, integration, testing, and deployment.
    • Identify and eliminate process bottlenecks to accelerate time-to-deploy for new hardware programs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Systems Engineering, Operations, and Data Center teams to ensure seamless hardware integration.
    • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to drive continuous improvements in product design and reliability.
    • Serve as the senior escalation point for hardware issues encountered during validation and deployment.
  • Technical Oversight
    • Guide the design and review of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and power systems for new platforms.
    • Drive the creation of test plans, performance validation procedures, and quality metrics.
    • Analyze and optimize performance and efficiency across hardware configurations at scale.
Who You Are:
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in hardware engineering or NPI environments, with 3+ years in a management or technical leadership role.
    • Proven track record of delivering new hardware platforms from concept to production in large-scale environments.
    • Deep understanding of one or more engineering disciplines: mechanical, thermal, electrical, or power systems.
    • Experience working closely with hardware vendors and OEMs to resolve design, validation, or manufacturing issues.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Strong program management and process development experience.
    • Passion for operational excellence and building scalable systems.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical, and dynamic environment.
  • Bonus Points For:
    • Experience in data center hardware, server design, or compute infrastructure.
    • Background in automation or firmware-driven hardware validation.
    • Start-up or high-growth environment experience.
