At Tive, we imagine a fully-transparent world in which everything and everyone is connected. We innovate beyond what the world thought possible—so what people hold near and dear arrives on time and in full.

We believe (and live!) four core values:

  • Transparency First: We make everything visible so that everyone can operate better
  • Always strive to make things simpler
  • We are One Team, we have each other's backs
  • Relentless iteration to optimize and improve

Whether shipped by road, rail, ocean, or air, Tive reduces shipment delays, minimizes rejected loads, and decreases theft, damage, and spoilage. Our customers count on Tive to ensure that their shipments are delivered on time and in full—because every shipment matters.

As a Hardware Engineering EPM, you will be responsible for leading the development of Tive hardware (EE, ME, firmware, radio, mfg test) from concept through Mass Production. You will be the internal and external face of the project, the source of truth for timelines, and ultimately responsible for delivering on-time.

You will lead the internal team through the development cycle planning and coordinating all cross functional activities to bring the product to life, being a technical mentor/sounding board for the team as well as the single source of truth regarding project status, timelines, deliverables and risks.

You will be the main technical point of contact with external partners and plan/coordinate all activities/deliverables with them, including development partners, contract manufacturers, and consultants.

If you love making things happen, creating with teams, and being a part of a global development team, and being the one responsible for making it all happen, this is the job for you.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bring strong technical expertise and be comfortable going deep into electrical and systems design when needed.
  • Be an excellent communicator.
  • 10+ years experience in hardware product development for high volume products
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary technical development teams
  • Experience driving products into high-volume mass production with Asian contract manufacturers
  • Deep knowledge of hardware development best practices in two or more of the following areas: Electronics, mechanics, system engineering, or firmware
  • Willingness to travel within the US and Asia (sometimes with little notice) based on need in the product development cycle.
  • BSEE, ME or Physics

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the team in the design of electrical, mechanical, firmware & mfg test
  • Partner with Quality and all external partners to ensure complete product validation
  • Have detailed knowledge of all technical issues, project milestones and deliverables
  • Coordinate and drive all work within hardware, and with our development/mfg partners
  • Ensure that all work is planned, owned, and being executed in the right sequence, identifying dependencies, bottlenecks and risks.
  • Own, maintain, and update schedules and work plans
  • Identify gaps in capability and drive systemic change to improve everything that we do
  • Manage ECOs and run retrospectives
  • Own BOM cost and partner with Supply Chain to drive/improve CoGM
  • Regular clear communications of program progress

Compensation:

$150,000 - $200,000 base salary

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
