  • Develop electronics for computing, sensing, power management, communications, and control subsystems

  • Support component selection, bring-up, debugging, validation, and integration of custom hardware designs

  • Perform board-level testing, signal integrity analysis, power validation, and hardware troubleshooting

  • Create and maintain design documentation, schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and revision control workflows

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, validation infrastructure, and hardware reliability practices

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering with a focus on PCB design

  • Experience designing multilayer PCBs for embedded or high-performance systems

  • Proficiency with PCB CAD tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar

  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design fundamentals

  • Familiarity with power systems, voltage regulation, and embedded processor integration

  • Ability to read datasheets, validate hardware performance, and troubleshoot complex system issues

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional engineering environments

Nice to have
  • Experience designing electronics for UAVs, robotics, aerospace, or autonomous systems

  • Familiarity with RF systems, antennas, telemetry, or wireless communications

  • Experience with high-speed PCB layout considerations and signal integrity analysis

  • Experience supporting prototype-to-production hardware development cycles

  • Experience operating in startup or rapid prototyping environments

Why Tycho.AI
  • Be part of a rapidly scaling startup defining the future of autonomous intelligence.

  • Collaborative, high-trust culture that values innovation, execution, and continuous learning.

  • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and a generous benefits package.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
