Insight Investment is looking for a Guideline Management Associate to join the Guideline Management team in Boston. In this role, you will receive training and development to build your understanding of investment guidelines, compliance systems, and operational controls. You will support the team in reviewing active investment guidelines, coding post-trade investment restrictions into compliance systems, monitoring post-trade alerts for U.S. clients and helping resolve incidents in partnership with internal stakeholders. You will also assist in Guideline related projects.

The Guideline Monitoring team are responsible for the drafting, implementation, coding and monitoring of investment guidelines. The team are integral to front office processes and are sat amongst the fund management team and client solutions group, working closely with them to ensure guidelines are operationally sound and that investment risk limits are adhered to.

Role Responsibilities

  • Learn and develop a working knowledge of Charles River (CRD) and other compliance monitoring systems
  • Support the coding of new mandates and amendments into systems within agreed timelines and with strong attention to detail
  • Work closely with the Fund Managers and Client Directors to ensure that coding has been accurately interpreted and signed off within the appropriate timeframe
  • Help respond to client guideline queries from across the business are answered in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with post trade monitoring of incidents generated by the compliance systems, ensuring incidents are proactively escalated and recorded in the relevant systems
  • Support the completion of monthly and quarterly compliance attestations within the required deadlines
  • Support the fund managers with ad-hoc queries related to pre-trade warnings generated by the compliance systems
  • Continuously engage with IT to evolve systems and assisting in Guideline related projects.
  • Work closely with Fund Management and the Client Services team in the review of guidelines – ensuring that amendments can be coded into the compliance systems and standardizing the format of guidelines across the U.S. business
  • Liaise with various internal parties (Fund Managers, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Client Directors, Traders) on Guideline Management team projects – ensuring deadlines are met
  • Contribute ideas to reduce operational risk to the business and to increase the efficiency of processes

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree completed in finance, mathematics, economics, business, or a related field
  • Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in financial markets or asset management
  • Internship, placement, or academic project experience in finance, operations, risk, compliance, or investments is helpful but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Interest in learning about compliance systems, order management systems, and investment guidelines
  • Exposure to SQL or data analysis tools is beneficial but not required
  • Basic understanding of fixed income or municipal securities is helpful but not required

Under pay transparency law we are required to indicate the base salary range for this role of USD 80,000 - 85,000. Any offer of employment will be made based upon the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate and the base salary offered could be higher or lower than indicated.
