The GTM Strategy & Operations Associate - Sales Engineering (SE) will join a global team driving Datadog’s next phase of growth. We’re interdisciplinary thinkers leveraging diverse business backgrounds in management consulting, investment banking, business development, and tech to accelerate Datadog’s global growth. We work directly with Datadog’s most senior leaders to set corporate strategy, improve efficiency across the business, support data-driven decision-making, own complex operations, and more.

As an Associate on the GTM Strategy & Operations team, you will support Datadog’s Sales Engineering organization. You will own ongoing operations to support the department such as weekly forecasting, KPI reporting, and process improvements, and serve as a thought partner to Sales Engineering leadership on key initiatives and long term strategy. We’re looking for someone eager to help us identify opportunities to further accelerate the impact of our SEs, support and scale global processes, and coordinate closely with Strategy and Operations team members and cross-functional partners.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them

What you’ll do

  • Own the business performance data and business review cadence, including Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Sales Reviews
  • Identify and recommend investments for the Sales Engineering organization, through data analysis and stakeholder input to drive data, systems, processes, and tool strategy
  • Support the annual planning process, including headcount, territory management, and target setting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: partner with stakeholders across Finance, Recruiting, Enablement, HR and more on key strategic and operational priorities
  • Maintain and augment reports and dashboards, refining KPIs leading to insights and business impact
  • Lead program management for cross-functional channel work streams
  • Support operational processes for the day-to-day business, including stakeholder support, KPI management, and process optimization
  • Strategize opportunities for automation to scale efficiently and improve GTM operations

Who You Are:

  • At least 2-4 years in sales strategy & operations, management consulting, investment banking / equity research, or equivalent.
  • Strong sense of ownership: will own and measure outcomes along with customer success, sales, marketing, technical solutions, etc.
  • Strong analytical problem solving abilities: can model any operational question with high attention to detail.
  • You are a systems and process-oriented thinker who seeks to understand the why behind core processes
  • Proven ability to proactively develop actionable recommendations and process improvements from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator.
  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Metabase, Looker, etc) or a willingness to learn on the job

Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience or familiarity with Sales Engineering
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing complex datasets using SQL or Python
  • Experience working in a SaaS or high-tech company
  • Experience with Salesforce and other sales systems

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
