Heard is on a mission to make running a private practice feel simpler, more sustainable, and more confident for therapists. We help therapists understand their money, stay organized, pay taxes, and build practices that support their lives, not just their income.
As we scale, growth is not just about driving more traffic. It is about showing up in the moments therapists are actively searching for answers, earning trust early, and creating an experience that makes it easy to take the next step with confidence.
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Contractor to help lead the next phase of Heard’s growth.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role with real ownership. You will help shape how therapists find Heard, how they experience our brand across channels, and how intent turns into meaningful action. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by experimentation, comfortable working in data, and thoughtful about how therapists move from uncertainty to trust.
You will have clear ownership over how therapists discover Heard, how they experience our brand at moments of intent, and how that intent turns into meaningful action.
What You'll Own
- Paid acquisition strategy and performance: The overall approach to paid growth, including channel mix, budget allocation, creative testing strategy, and performance against MQL and efficiency goals.
- Organic visibility & answer prescence: How Heard shows up across traditional search and emerging answer engines, with ownership over SEO and AEO priorities that align with therapist demand and evolving search behavior.
- Paid brand investment: How we use paid channels to build trust, clarity, and brand understanding at scale, in close partnership with Product Marketing.
- Top-of-funnel conversion and experimentation: The experience therapists have once they land on Heard, with accountability for identifying friction, prioritizing experiments, and improving conversion.
- Measurement and learning: Clear visibility into budget, funnel performance, and experimentation results, ensuring we are learning quickly and investing where impact is highest.
What You'll Do
- Manage paid search and paid social spend, continuously testing creative and optimizing bids to hit MQL goals
- Launch and evaluate new paid channels, including YouTube and TikTok
- Plan and execute brand-led campaigns in partnership with Product Marketing across paid social and YouTube
- Own and execute against the SEO and AEO roadmap, tracking progress and identifying new opportunities
- Track weekly budget and funnel performance and design experiments to address drop-offs
- Lead CRO efforts and run experiments to improve conversion across the funnel
How We Work
- You are comfortable working in data and using it to inform decisions, tradeoffs, and prioritization
- You enjoy experimenting across channels, creative, and experiences, and learning quickly from what works and what does not
- You think deeply about audience mindset, especially uncertainty, trust, and motivation, and how that shows up across the funnel
- You balance quantitative insight with qualitative understanding, including feedback from sales conversations and real therapist behavior
- This role rewards curiosity, good judgment, and a willingness to challenge assumptions.
You Might be a Fit If
- You are comfortable running experiments that succeed and experiments that fail, and you know how to use both to move the business forward
- You work confidently in data and own your reporting, using it to evaluate performance, surface insights, and guide decisions
- You have partnered closely with other teams, including sales, content, and product, to improve outcomes across the full funnel
- You translate audience mindset into messaging, creative, and experiences that build trust and reduce friction
- You have a strong pulse on the current state of marketing and how it is changing, especially across social, search, and answer-driven discovery
Contract Details
- Type: Temporary contract role
- Location: We are requiring that this individual is based in the US.
- Timing: January through April
- Future Opportunity: Potential for extended or future work based on performance and company needs
- Rate: $90-$100/hour depending on experience
- Weekly commitment: 20-25 hours/week, preferred availability is 11-3pm PT Monday - Friday to enable synchronous collaboration
