About the role

At Thatch, we’re building a new way for modern businesses to offer great health benefits. We’re taking a new approach with backing from some of the world’s top investors (a16z, Google Ventures, General Catalyst) and a team of early builders from Stripe, Rippling, Ramp, Brex, and Shopify. 

We’re looking to hire a remarkable Growth Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and a product-oriented mindset. You’ll lead our growth engineering initiatives end-to-end and be responsible for creating product-led acquisition and activation loops through innovative engineering solutions.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical part in our company's growth and success. The ideal candidate will be a customer-first thinker, with a drive for excellence and bias for action and outcomes.

What you'll do
  • Leverage data and build the data systems to deeply understand our customers and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Devise and execute projects that drive revenue, customer acquisition, activation, and engagement.
  • Collaborate on product-led growth initiatives end-to-end (e.g., referral systems, funnel optimization, upsell triggers, sales handoff workflows) that can be reused across customer segments.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality web applications using React, TypeScript, and other modern Develop a culture of agility and iteration, striking a balance between quick wins and scalable, long-term frameworks.
  • Work side-by-side with Product, Sales, Marketing and Customer teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our product-led growth.
Background we're looking for
  • 2+ years of experience working in a full stack engineering role.
  • Familiarity of tools in the modern GTM stack (today we use Segment, Mixpanel, Braze, SFDC, Clay and others).
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to use data to find answers and inform strategy. Knowledge of SQL is a plus!
  • Excitement about the potential of AI to make product and customer workflows smarter and more.
  • Have a low ego, deep curiosity, an appetite to build, and employ good judgment in making hard trade-offs with limited resources.
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • 1-2 years of experience on a Growth or Product team
  • Previous experience at a fast-growing startup
  • Knowledge of any of the following services: Salesforce, Contentful, Mixpanel, Segment, Metabase
