BILL is looking for a talented, high-performing Account Executive to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for qualifying, developing, and closing new business with 11–100 employee SMBs across Professional Services, Healthcare, Nonprofits, Finance & Insurance, and Transportation/Logistics that are new to BILL.

This is a true new-business hunter role focused on high-volume, high-velocity selling. You will own your pipeline, run a full sales cycle, and help customers understand how BILL can simplify financial operations through AP automation and adjacent workflows. The ideal candidate is energized by outbound prospecting, motivated by quota, and excited to win in a fast-paced SaaS sales environment.

In this role, you will
  • Own a full-cycle sales motion from prospecting through close for net-new SMB customers in the 11–100 employee segment
  • Build and manage your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, multi-channel follow-up, and lead conversion
  • Execute a high-activity sales motion, including cold calling, discovery, demos, and follow-up
  • Conduct virtual sales presentations and product demos that connect BILL’s value to the customer’s workflows and business needs
  • Sell consultatively by identifying current finance processes, uncovering pain points, and aligning BILL’s solutions to customer goals
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder sales cycles with Controllers, CFOs, Finance leaders, AP stakeholders, and other decision-makers
  • Manage a high volume of opportunities at once while maintaining strong organization, calendar discipline, and follow-through
  • Maintain accurate account, pipeline, opportunity, and forecast data in internal CRM systems
  • Develop vertical fluency across key segments and tailor messaging based on customer business models and finance team structures
  • Partner effectively across internal teams while staying accountable to your number and core activity metrics
We’d love to chat if you have:
  • 2+ years of software, SaaS, fintech, or tech sales experience
  • Experience in a high-volume, high-velocity inside sales or SMB sales environment
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a net-new business role
  • Strong outbound prospecting skills and comfort with cold calling as a meaningful part of the job
  • Experience running a full sales cycle, including discovery, demos, objection handling, negotiation, and close
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain business value clearly and confidently
  • A customer-focused, consultative selling style
  • Solid organization, time management, and CRM hygiene
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • A self-starting, competitive, resilient, and coachable mindset
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where adaptability matters
  • Bonus: experience selling to Controllers, CFOs, Finance leaders, or AP stakeholders, and familiarity with SMB financial operations such as AP, AR, expense management, ERP integrations, or payments

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
