Graphic Designer will sit within our Global Merchandise Services (GMS) team. GMS helps brands bring their fan communities products that unleash badge-wearing potential, so the people who love them most can love them even more.

Position overview:
We are looking for a graphic designer who can support GMS in presenting, promoting and selling products by creating excellent graphics, typography, packaging designs and product renderings etc. with design concept, mood board development. You will independently take charge of the overall thematic design for Starbucks Japan market- Merch category, and you will also need to collaborate with the product team to ensure project deadlines are met and to help the project successfully launch.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION
Graphic Design
  • Understand Japanese market trends and consumer insights to capture design inspiration and create engaging storylines.
  • Deliver and present designs effectively to clients, helping them understand the concepts while strengthening local cultural connections.
  • Maintain a holistic view of creative activities, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Translate creative direction into product and communication solutions, with a focus on color trend research and application.
  • Ensure design spec and colour sample accuracy.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with the creative and PD teams to ensure alignment of all creative deliverables.

Program & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop a comprehensive design schedule for each promotional window and manage every milestone to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Through close communication with SBJ customer, understand their latest requirements and design ideas. Act as a communication bridge between customer and the product design center based in Shanghai office.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent related experience.
  • 4~5 years experience in relevant area or industry.
  • Fluent English is a must.
  • Understanding of global graphics and design trends, particularly in Japan market with its culture uniqueness.
  • Solid word processing and computer database skills with knowledge of Adobe Photo Shop/Illustrator etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond effectively and positively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to balance a complex workload and prioritize tasks under multi tasks situation; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Passionate about product creativity and design

Any of the following would be a plus
  • 3D software skills such as Rihno, Solid Works, Key shot is a plus.
  • Overseas design studying or working background is a plus
  • Working experience with international brands is a plus.
