JOB DESCRIPTION:

Generous Brands is seeking a multidisciplinary graphic designer with a sharp creative instinct, a sweat-the-details-mentality, and a low-ego approach to collaboration. Equal parts concepting and execution, you bring a considered point of view to every brief and every brand in the portfolio — translating creative strategy into design that is cohesive, intentional, and built to scale. You thrive in a fast-moving, multi-brand environment and take pride in producing work that is both visually excellent and strategically sound.

Job Duties:

  • Day-to-Day Creative Requests: Production across trade, retail, out-of-home, and ecomm touchpoints, along with occasional paid media and one-off brand requests; working within brand guidelines and bringing a keen eye for detail and creative thinking to every deliverable.
  • Packaging Design & Scalable Systems: Develop packaging concepts and design systems, exploring

visual directions that translate brand direction into cohesive systems that scale. 3D product renderings & mechanical/production-ready file prep experience is a plus, not a requirement.

  • Campaign Development & Concepting: Contribute original ideas in creative kick-offs and support campaign and photoshoot planning via mood boards, graphic exploration, and visual references that bring brand strategy to life in tangible campaign assets.
  • PR Gifting & Special Assets: Support the design of PR gifting assets and other special one-off deliverables, with a sharp eye for what makes something feel cool, unexpected, and worth posting.
  • Brand Guideline Support: Contribute to the ongoing evolution of brand identity systems — applying and reinforcing existing guidelines across new assets and touchpoints as brands grow.
  • Multi-Brand Workload Management: Manage a diverse, fast-moving workload with efficiency and ownership, partnering closely with project managers and cross-functional stakeholders to hit milestones — delivering thoughtful revisions based on internal and external feedback without compromising quality or timelines.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; experience with Figma, After Effects,
  • Premiere Pro, and/or 3D rendering is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in typography, including type pairing, hierarchy, and application across brand and packaging systems.
  • Tactically strong design execution paired with genuine interest in systems-level and campaign thinking— someone who wants to grow into the "why," not just execute the "what."
  • Ability to manage a busy, multi-brand workload, prioritizing effectively and staying accountable to deadlines, with clear, proactive communication with the project manager on progress and blockers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — able to present ideas with clarity and confidence to creative and non-creative audiences, and to synthesize multi-stakeholder feedback without losing the integrity of the work.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a disciplined approach to file structure, naming conventions, and asset management across multiple brands.
  • Stay current on industry design trends and tools — including AI — with a willingness to learn and adopt new ways of working as the industry evolves.
  • Positive, proactive, self-starter mentality; comfortable taking initiative with strong problem-solving skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5 years of design experience at a creative agency, design studio, or in-house team.
  • Bachelor's degree in art, design, or related discipline.
  • A well-rounded portfolio spanning digital and print — with strong examples of typography, composition, and packaging concept work — is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in CPG, beverage, or food is a strong plus.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
