The Language Doctors is looking to engage an experienced federal business development consultant to drive growth across the federal sector. The ideal consultant brings a proven track record in federal sales, hands-on experience with GSA and other contracting vehicles, and familiarity with how government agencies procure language services — whether from the vendor or agency side.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a federal BD strategy aligned with company growth goals
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline across GSA MAS, BPAs, IDIQs, and open-market contracts
- Engage with federal agencies, contracting officers, program managers, and prime contractors
- Lead capture strategy, including opportunity qualification, positioning, and win planning
- Collaborate with internal teams to advance opportunities through proposal and award
- Track pipeline activity and provide regular progress and forecast updates
Qualifications:
- 7+ years in federal sales or business development, preferably in a services-based environment
- Demonstrated success contributing to federal contract awards
- Experience with GSA MAS and federal contracting vehicles; familiarity with SAM.gov, eBuy, or GovWin
- Strong understanding of federal procurement, set-asides, and teaming strategies
- Ability to operate independently and drive results with minimal oversight
Preferred Experience:
- Background in language services (translation, interpretation, or linguistic support) — vendor or agency/buyer side
- Experience with VA, DoD, HHS, DHS, State Department, or other federal civilian agencies
- Knowledge of small business programs (HUBZone, 8(a), SDVOSB) applied in capture strategy
