InterSystems is seeking a Government Affairs Intern to support our Public Sector Sales team. This role offers hands-on exposure to government relations, public policy with an emphasis on healthcare, and the intersection of technology and public sector markets. The intern will assist with research, analysis, and coordination activities that help advance InterSystems’ engagement with Congress and Congressional staff in addition to state policymakers.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in government affairs, public policy, public administration, business development, or technology in the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on federal, state government policies, legislation, and procurement trends relevant to public sector technology and healthcare IT
- Monitor and summarize policy developments, regulatory changes, and government funding initiatives that may impact InterSystems’ public sector business
- Support the Public Sector Sales team with background research on government agencies, programs, and strategic initiatives
- Assist in preparing briefing materials, presentations, and internal reports for sales leadership and government affairs activities
- Help track government opportunities, stakeholder engagements, and public sector initiatives
- Coordinate with internal teams (sales, marketing, legal, and product) to support government-facing activities
- Perform general administrative and project support as needed
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, International Relations, Public Administration, Business, or a related field
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Interest in government affairs, public sector sales, and/or technology policy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools or government procurement systems is a plus
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Coursework or experience related to government procurement, healthcare policy, or public sector technology
- Familiarity with legislative tracking tools or public policy research methods
- Prior internship or work experience in government, consulting, or public affairs

InterSystems is providing a current good faith estimate of the anticipated base salary range for this position depending on a variety of factors including experience, education, skills, and performance.
Other compensation may include a discretionary annual variable target incentive.
