About this role

BlackRock is one of the world’s preeminent asset management firms and a premier provider of global investment management, risk management and advisory services to institutional, intermediary, and individual investors around the world. BlackRock’s mission is to create a better financial future for our clients. We have a responsibility to be the voice of the investor, and we represent each client fairly and equally. Constant communication with a diverse team of partners strengthens us and delivers better results for our clients. Continuous innovation helps us bring the best of BlackRock to our clients. Our clients can access our investment solutions through a variety of product structures, including individual and institutional separate accounts, mutual funds and other pooled investment vehicles, and the industry-leading iShares® ETFs.

The associate will conduct sophisticated analysis that impacts portfolio performance and active risk positioning for the Global Tactical Asset Allocation (GTAA) team, a global macro, data intensive, and thematically oriented group within Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions.  The individual will focus on designing, creating, and using data and analytics to help manage GTAA portfolios and better serve clients. • Help design, build, and use GTAA’s analytics platform for portfolio management and client engagement, encompassing portfolio holdings, risk, exposures, attribution, and several GTAA specific metrics

  • Enhance portfolio management processes through the use of programing tools like python and snowflake, with corresponding dashboard visuals in Tableau

  • Grow expertise in portfolio construction to create customized portfolios to align with clients’ investment objectives

  • Leverage AI, both generic enterprise versions for project management and coding, but also GTAA specific AI tools to improve performance, consistency, and scale

  • Remain constantly engaged with global markets

  • Support client initiatives, change management, onboarding, reporting processes, and generating client materials, ensuring deadlines are met with broad stakeholder coordination

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in investments, portfolio management, or quantitative/analytical roles with exposure to Multi-Asset portfolios and global markets

  • Ability to translate analytical insights into practical portfolio and client solutions

  • High level of proficiency with data analysis, AI, and visualization tools, including Python, SQL, AI programming, Snowflake, Tableau (or comparable platforms)

  • Familiarity with portfolio management systems and data environments, including Aladdin and Bloomberg

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create polished client-facing materials

  • Passionate about investing, intellectually curious, and self-motivated

  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously

  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to take ownership of deliverables

  • Advanced quantitative or finance degree preferred

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
