The role is expected to go beyond checklist auditing and procedural compliance. The Global QHSSE Lead Auditor will examine work as performed, test critical controls, assess management-system effectiveness, identify systemic weaknesses and weak signals, and produce clear, evidence-based findings that enable accountable leaders to improve.

The role also strengthens audit capability across the global QHSSE function by establishing high standards for audit planning, evidence, interviewing, finding quality, corrective-action verification and auditor competence. Independence, professional judgment and the ability to constructively challenge senior leaders are fundamental to the position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognized QHSE, Quality, engineering, risk, auditing or management-systems qualification appropriate to the role.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant QHSE, Quality, operational-risk, management-systems or assurance experience within complex or higher-risk industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical audit and assurance experience, including leading audits or multi-discipline assurance activities.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Recognized Lead Auditor qualification in at least one relevant ISO management-system standard, with strong working knowledge across the integrated standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute risk-based audits, gather evidence, interview personnel, evaluate control effectiveness and write high-quality findings.
  • Experience evaluating corrective actions, root causes and effectiveness of implemented improvements.
  • Strong written communication and report-writing capability.
  • Ability to constructively challenge operational and senior leaders while maintaining professional independence.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures, jurisdictions and business environments.

Preferred

  • Lead Auditor qualification across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
  • Degree or higher professional qualification in QHSE, Quality, Engineering, Environmental Science, Risk Management or related discipline.
  • Chartered or equivalent professional QHSE or Quality membership.
  • Formal investigation, root-cause analysis, Learning Team or critical-control verification training.
  •   Experience in energy, oil and gas, industrial services, offshore or comparable high-hazard industries.
  • Experience conducting cross-regional, enterprise-level, supplier or project assurance.
  • Experience supporting certification-body, client or regulatory audits.
  • Strong data-analysis capability using QHSSE systems of record and assurance information.

Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40–60% of the time, including significant international travel.
  • Travel to EnerMech regions, projects, workshops, client locations, remote sites and operational facilities as assurance priorities require.
  • Ability and willingness to travel offshore when required, subject to appropriate medical, competency and training requirements.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments and comply with applicable site-access, PPE and operational requirements.
  • Ability to support significant assurance, certification, event-related or executive review activities outside normal working hours when necessary.
  • Ability to conduct assurance across different cultures, languages, jurisdictions and regulatory environments, using appropriate interpreter or specialist support where necessary.
