Role Overview
Verisk Maplecroft is seeking a dynamic, commercially proven Global Head of Commercial to define and lead its global commercial strategy.
This executive role is central to accelerating revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening long‑term client relationships across our core customer segments. The Global Head of Commercial will have full accountability for commercial performance and will oversee all revenue‑generating and client‑facing functions, including Business Development & Partnerships and Account Management & Client Services.
As a key member of the Verisk Maplecroft Leadership Team, the Global Head of Commercial will work closely with the President and senior leaders across Product, Research, Analytics, Consulting, and Corporate Marketing to ensure strategic alignment and disciplined execution of the company’s growth objectives.
ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy & Leadership
- Own and execute a comprehensive global commercial strategy aligned with Verisk Maplecroft’s strategic priorities, financial targets, and long‑term growth ambitions.
- Lead, inspire, and develop high‑performing, geographically distributed commercial teams across Europe, the Americas, and Asia‑Pacific, fostering a culture of client‑centricity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify, assess, and manage internal and external commercial risks, adapting strategy to mitigate downside exposure and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
- Drive strong cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Research, Consulting, Analytics, and Corporate Marketing to ensure alignment from product conception through to market delivery.
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
- Deliver sustainable revenue growth across existing and new markets, including the design and execution of outbound demand‑generation and client acquisition strategies in partnership with Corporate Marketing.
- Identify and prioritise market opportunities, customer segments, and growth themes to support medium‑ and long‑term expansion.
- Partner closely with Product leadership to define and execute go‑to‑market strategies, pricing and packaging models, and differentiated value propositions.
- Establish and monitor clear commercial KPIs, optimising performance in response to market conditions, competitive dynamics, and financial targets.
- Own and continuously evolve client acquisition and sales playbooks to increase pipeline quality, improve win rates, and shorten sales cycles.
Client Engagement & Success
- Champion a client‑first mindset across all commercial touchpoints, from onboarding and adoption through retention and expansion.
- Ensure consistent delivery of value through disciplined account planning, proactive relationship management, and targeted growth strategies.
- Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with key clients, strategic accounts, and partners.
- Leverage structured client feedback and insights to inform product development, service innovation, and commercial priorities.
Operational Excellence
- Implement scalable commercial processes, tools, and systems to support efficient operations, including sales enablement, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Maintain continuous visibility into commercial performance, providing clear, timely, and insightful reporting to executive leadership.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in a senior commercial leadership role within a B2B data, analytics, and/or SaaS‑led organisation.
- Strong understanding of, or demonstrated interest in, corporate risk management, risk analytics, financial services, or adjacent markets.
- Solid grasp of data‑driven commercial models, including data quality, governance, and security, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable commercial insight.
- Experience leading and scaling global commercial organisations across multiple geographies.
- Hands‑on, values‑based leadership style with a strong focus on coaching and talent development.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and client retention at scale.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
