Real Chemistry is looking for a Global Controller to join our growing team!  

 

The Global Controller will be a key member of the finance team, reporting to the CFO and working alongside the Finance team to guide the company on all technical accounting initiatives. The Global Controller will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company's accounting activities, including general accounting, financial analysis, internal control, operational improvement, and audit. This position leads and manages all company compliance, consolidation, and reporting to provide financial information to the company on an accurate and timely basis. This leadership position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical, planning, evaluation, and implementation skills.

 

The Global Controller will also establish and implement policies and procedures to identify, resolve, and document accounting issues in addition to providing direction and strategic support to make the reporting processes more efficient and accurate. This leader will drive a culture of continuous improvement in the finance function and support that culture at the manufacturing locations, providing assistance and direction as the need arises to improve efficiency and overall performance.

 

The Global Controller will also lead, train, and develop an accounting team to ensure current and future leadership of the financial function.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.

What you’ll do: 

  • The Global Controller will advise and supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, department and activity reports and financial position presentations.

  • Collaborates with CFO to analyze and recommend improvements to month end close, financial reporting and accounting policy.

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and implementing policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate external audit functions, coordinates activities with outside audit firms.

  • Provides appropriate data and insights to department heads/FP&A during the budgeting process.

  • Lead all aspects of the treasury activity including, management of the bank accounts and reporting needed to support bank covenants.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure and establishing a team adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.

  • Ensure timely transactions in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Drive operational improvement and work to automate manual processes.

  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions, chart of accounts and accounting filing system.

  • Lead the financial integration of newly acquired businesses.

  • Working with internal audit, design and leads the internal financial controls across the company.

  • Provide support and own the relationship with the external tax provider.

What you should have:  

  • 10+ years of experience in positions of increased responsibility for general accounting, financial reporting, business unit controllership and corporate accounting.

  • CPA is required.

  • Big 4 Public Accounting is required

  • Proven ability to build a strong team to support the achievement of goals and objectives.

  • A high level of intellectual curiosity to passion to inspire change.

  • Ability to deliver to deadlines.

  • Self-starter – Ability to own and drive the agenda for the business.

 

Pay Range: $330,000 - $340,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.  Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
