We are seeking a General Counsel to serve as our primary legal advisor as we scale operations across multiple states and deepen our partnerships with Medicaid managed care organizations. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious attorney to build and lead the legal function at a high-growth healthcare company, gaining exposure to complex regulatory environments while making a meaningful impact on vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal counsel and risk management guidance to executive leadership on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters
  • Lead contracting processes with health plans, state Medicaid programs, and network providers, ensuring compliance with value-based arrangements and Medicaid regulations
  • Oversee compliance programs across multiple state jurisdictions, proactively identifying and addressing regulatory obligations in new markets
  • Manage credentialing compliance for clinical staff and ensure adherence to state-specific provider requirements
  • Direct and coordinate our work with third party specialty legal counsel
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks to protect the company as we expand into new states and partnership models
  • Partner with business leaders to structure agreements that balance commercial objectives with regulatory constraints, including anti-kickback statute considerations
  • Build scalable legal processes and infrastructure to support rapid organizational growth
Qualifications

Required

  • JD from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing
  • 3-5 years of experience at a law firm combined with in-house counsel experience in healthcare or regulated industries
  • Deep understanding of Medicaid regulations, compliance frameworks, and healthcare contracting
  • Experience navigating multi-state regulatory environments and interpreting complex compliance obligations
  • Strong commercial contract negotiation skills with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
  • Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach who thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
