Job Description

Vernova Purpose

Come and join our powerful, unified force with the energy of change.

Our mission is BIG. Our TRANSFORMATION is key – bringing the right businesses together to LEAD the ENERGY TRANSITION. Our TEAM is ready.

Becoming Vernova

Looking to make a global impact and solve problems?

Through relentless innovation and continuous collaboration with our customers, GE Gas Power, part of GE Vernova, is providing more advanced, cleaner, and efficient power that people depend on today and building the energy technologies of the future.

What impact you’ll make

As a student of the Global Services Lean and Continuous Improvement Team, you will be an active contributor to the LEAP program, helping us embed Lean ways of working for senior leaders, Lean coaches, frontline leaders, and hourly employees. You will support the design, delivery, and promotion of engaging Lean training programs and summits, while creating practical communication tools that bring Lean to life for our entire global workforce.

What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities)

  • Support the design and development of Lean training modules, summits, workshops, and supporting materials for diverse audiences — from senior leaders to hourly employees.
  • Create clear, simple visuals (e.g., one-page posters, slide decks, infographics) to communicate Lean principles, tools, and success stories.
  • Develop creative ideas for reaching our global population — including newsletters, video snippets, digital toolkits, and campaign concepts.
  • Coordinate with Lean coaches and regional teams to gather content, capture success stories, and tailor training messages.
  • Help plan and organize virtual or in-person events such as Lean events, summits, coaching workshops, or recognition moments.
  • Collect and analyze feedback on training and communications to improve engagement and adoption.
  • Assist in maintaining a repository of Lean training resources for the LEAP program.

Example Project: Activating the LEAP Program: Creative Training & Engagement Campaign

This project will involve designing practical Lean training modules and materials for senior leaders, Lean coaches, frontline leaders, and hourly employees — plus supporting the planning of a Lean Summit event. The intern will bring fresh, creative ideas to ensure Lean training is visible, simple, and actionable for every level of Global Services.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Industrial Engineering, Business, Communications, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA with active enrollment during the internship period.
  • Interest in Lean, continuous improvement, training development, or employee engagement.
  • Strong written communication and visual design skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and tools like PowerPoint, Canva, or other simple design software.

What will make you stand out (Desired Qualifications)

  • Experience supporting events, workshops, or training projects.
  • Familiarity with Lean concepts or continuous improvement practices.
  • Creative mindset for turning ideas into simple, engaging messages for global audiences.
  • Comfortable working across diverse teams and time zones.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
