Assist the Boston Red Sox Fan & Youth Department with event planning, coordination, and execution for game days and youth initiatives, ensuring successful activations and guest experiences.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Boston Red Sox Fan & Youth Department works to ensure the organization provides opportunities for young fans to connect with the organization and foster our relationship with the next generation through a series of programs and events. This includes gameday activations at the ballpark, mascot programming, Red Sox Kid Nation fan clubs, the mobile showcase, and hosting a series of large-scale events throughout the year. The Fan and Youth Engagement team also includes the Red Sox Street Team, who are responsible for traditional marketing/promotional activations, fan clubs, and customer service.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Red Sox FYE Event and Game Day assistant will help with the planning, execution, and debriefing of game days and youth initiative events. This role plays a key part in bringing the excitement of Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox out of the ballpark and into the community with a number of events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in administrative needs related to the Fan & Youth Engagement staff
- Assist in the coordination and daily operations of Game Days
- Develop leads and bookings for revenue-generating events for Red Sox Showcase
- Assist in the planning and execution of major Fan & Youth Engagement events, such as Out of the Park, Little League Opening Day, Play Ball, etc.
- Coordinate with vendors or execution and arrival times
- Serve as the main contact for vendors at various events
- Create an immersive brand experience for all guests that exceeds expectations
- Assist with special tasks and overall department goals, and kids-related initiatives as needed
CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to commit to January 2026-December 2027 timeline and work flexible hours (34 hours per week) with weekend availability
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or marketing-related fields preferred
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to problem-solve efficiently
- Ability to interact with and entertain a crowd of all ages
- General knowledge of baseball and the Red Sox
