Squarepoint Services US LLC seeks a Fundamental Equity Research Analyst for its Boston, Massachusetts location.


Duties: Analyze companies and stocks under coverage and make investment recommendations, leveraging a variety of analytical approaches and information sources including financial modeling, channel checks, alternative data, corporate access, and proprietary research. Formulate mathematical and simulation models of investment strategies, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and numerical parameters for the enhancement of trading through computerized algorithms, as well as implementation of models. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of mathematical models and technologies, statistical techniques including regression analysis, machine learning, and statistical inference, and financial and computer skills in order to enhance investment strategies based on equities or other asset classes and produce and implement sophisticated analyses describing new statistical effects, assessing robustness of effects, and developing new quantitative strategies making use of such effects. Perform validation and testing of both trading simulations and critical trading applications, build applications utilizing Shell and Python to automate daily data dependency processing for trading strategies, utilize KDB/Q and Python to analyze existing strategy behavior and propose and implement improvements and utilize Excel/VBA mathematical models and KDB analysis tools to track market history of specific asset classes to evaluate future profit potentials and risk margins.


Requirements: Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or related of study and 5 years of experience as a Equity Researcher, Senior Sector Specialist, Research Associate or related position for an investment/asset management organization performing fundamental research in an equity research buy-side role . Must have at least five (5) years of employment experience with: Deep coverage expertise in Software subsectors - Application Software, Vertical Software, Payroll, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure; Generating long and short ideas over various time horizons between 1-2 weeks and 6-9 months. Conducting bottom-up fundamental equity research on private and public companies across Software including industry/sector deep-dive, product and technology analyses, and company-specific proprietary research. Creating and maintaining single stock models using key metrics/stock drivers; Conducting financial statements analysis and constructing valuation framework. Conducting primary diligence, surveys, and channel checks to drive differentiated and actionable ideas. Leveraging and incorporating Alternative data sets including web traffic, sentiment data, domain registration, and credit card spending into the investment process, and delivering stock recommendations. Experiences with quantamental research or quantitative analytical approaches including multi-factor regression modeling and algorithm programming using R/Python. Hosting company meetings with management; Attending user conferences and conducting field study and customer/partner checks. Must have 2 years of experience with risk management and tactical trading. Understanding positioning, risk factors, and trade flows; Generating ideas leveraging tactical colors. National travel is required on a monthly basis to industry conferences/company events/headquarter visits
 

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $170,000 Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $300,000 40 hrs/week. The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate.  It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
