This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite). Must reside within a 50-mile radius of one of our Tech Hubs located in Portsmouth, NH, Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Plano, TX or Boston, MA.

About the job:
Join a small, high-impact engineering team modernizing Small Commercial Insurance on AWS. If you're a pragmatic software engineer with 3+ years of experience, strong SQL skills, and a passion for data, you'll build and optimize data-driven systems, influence product decisions, and help deliver measurable business results. Experience with AWS, JavaScript/TypeScript, data engineering, SAP Commissions, or Agile ways of working will let you hit the ground running and grow quickly in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Full Stack with significant experience in SQL and AWS
  • Three years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
  • Demonstrated success in platform modernization initiatives, utilizing technologies such as REST; micro services; cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; and Java, NodeJS and Spring Boot.
  • An ability to code in multiple languages, including an object-oriented language, preferably Java/J2EE.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills-and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.
  • A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.
  • A thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
