Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting KYC verification, identity authentication, and compliance workflows.
- Lead the architecture and implementation of high-performance distributed systems capable of processing millions of global user verification requests.
- Build and optimise risk assessment pipelines and case management systems supporting compliance operations.
- Develop and maintain internal tooling and dashboards using React and TypeScript when needed, with a primary focus on backend engineering.
- Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate with third-party KYC/AML vendors and internal data sources.
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions, with emphasis on backend, data processing, AI integration and security.
- Improve system reliability, performance, observability and engineering efficiency through automation and best practices.

- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code while conducting thoughtful code reviews.
- Continuously optimise system performance, scalability, throughput and developer experience.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
3+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend focus.
Solid backend development experience with Java (Spring Boot), Go, or similar backend technologies.
Experience integrating AI/ML models or LLM-powered tools into production systems — including model serving, inference pipelines, or AI-assisted automation workflows.
Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
Strong understanding of relational databases, caching technologies, message queues and distributed system fundamentals.
Bilingual English/Mandarin is required to be able to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders.
