Summary of the Role

We’re seeking a Full-cycle Recruiter to join Magical and own hiring end-to-end across critical teams, mostly focused on Engineering & Product to start. As the sole member of our recruiting function, you’ll play a key role in building the talent engine that powers Magical’s next phase of growth.

This role involves owning the entire recruiting lifecycle - from intake and sourcing to closing and offers, while continuously improving our hiring process, candidate experience, and decision quality. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers and leadership, move with urgency, and bring a high bar + high empathy approach to hiring.

What You’ll Do
  • Own full-cycle recruiting: intake → sourcing → screens → interview loops → debriefs → references → offers → close

  • Partner with hiring managers: run tight, high-signal intakes, align on role scope, leveling, scorecards, and interview plans, coach on interview quality and calibration

  • Build strong pipelines (especially outbound): market mapping and sourcing strategy, referrals + warm network activation, creative outbound sequences that convert

  • Run excellent recruiting ops: keep pipelines moving with speed and precision, ensure high-quality candidate comms and follow-through, maintain strong ATS hygiene and clean reporting

  • Be data-driven: track funnel metrics (conversion rates, time-to-fill, source quality, pass-through rates), identify bottlenecks and iterate quickly

  • Deliver a standout candidate experience: high-touch, responsive communication, clarity on process, expectations, and timelines

  • Close top talent: partner on offer strategy and compensation alignment, anticipate objections, navigate counteroffers, and land closes

  • Strengthen our recruiting brand: represent Magical in outreach, interviews, and follow-ups, help evolve messaging that reflects our mission and culture

Who You Are
  • High-agency and fast-moving: you create momentum, unblock decisions, and follow through relentlessly

  • Strong sourcer: you’re great at outbound - finding, engaging, and converting talent in competitive markets especially using AI tools and tech

  • Excellent communicator: crisp, warm, and direct with candidates, confident managing stakeholders and delivering feedback

  • Structured and detail-oriented: you run tight processes, keep pipelines organized, and maintain high signal

  • Data-savvy: you’re comfortable using metrics to diagnose what’s working and what needs to change

  • Builder mindset: you enjoy improving systems (scorecards, interview loops, templates) without overcomplicating things

  • Human + fun: above-average sense of humor and you bring warmth to a high-performance environment

Who We Are

At Magical, we empower organizations to automate the complex, manual workflows that are essential to their operations. These workflows are the backbone of industries that keep the world running, yet many organizations remain burdened by resource constraints and outdated manual processes, hindering their efficiency and innovation.

Magical leverages AI and a purpose-built workflow automation platform to seamlessly transform long-form, multi-system workflows into fully autonomous processes. We enable teams to scale operations, reduce costs, and focus on what matters most.

Backed by leading investors, including Coatue, Greylock and BainCapital Ventures, Magical is reimagining the future of work by equipping teams with the tools to unlock hidden inefficiencies, automate with precision and achieve unprecedented operational scale.

Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of recruiting experience, with 2+ years owning full-cycle recruiting end-to-end

  • Experience in a high-growth startup (or similarly fast-paced environment with high volume + urgency)

  • Proven ability to manage multiple reqs while maintaining: speed, quality, exceptional candidate experience

  • Strong outbound sourcing experience, including: market mapping, sequencing/outreach strategy, converting cold outreach into hires

  • Demonstrated success closing candidates in competitive markets (comp, counteroffers, complex decision-making)

  • Familiarity with ATS workflows (e.g., Greenhouse/Lever) + strong pipeline hygiene and reporting discipline

  • Bonus: recruiting experience in AI/automation, healthcare, or enterprise SaaS

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
