Profile Overview
We are seeking a seasoned website and brand copywriter with strong SEO expertise to support the revitalization of FreelanceWriting.com. The ideal candidate will be adept at crafting homepage copy, service pages, and other marketing-forward content with strategic keyword intent for marketer audiences (e.g., “hire a blog writer,” “technical writing services”).
Scope
- Immediate engagement (starting August)
- Project-based: Homepage and 20 marketing-focused pages (mix of service and blog content) with opportunity to expand
- Close collaboration with internal SEO and strategy leads
- Goal: optimize homepage, site structure, and develop top-priority content pillars
Responsibilities
- Rewrite or reimagine homepage copy to align with marketing personas
- Develop 5–10 service pages (e.g., "Hire a Technical Writer," "Blog Writing Services")
- Write 5–10 SEO-supporting blog articles targeting mid-funnel search terms
- Collaborate with SEO lead and designer to ensure copy aligns with evolving site structure and brand tone
- Implement SEO best practices (headlines, metadata, readability)
- Contribute to identifying and refining pillar content topics
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience writing homepage and service-level website content
- Strong grasp of SEO principles and keyword-intent mapping
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (SEO, design, dev)
- Ability to write for both technical and marketing-savvy audiences
- Willingness to collaborate and bring ideas to improve the end output
- Familiarity with WordPress is a plus
